Q: I'm 6' tall, what is the center height? I'm concerned about bending over all the time

Center height will be fine you will have to bend over to get under it. Good product also sheds rain very well.

Q: Does this have pockets to throw sand in to weigh it down at the beach?

Hi there! This does not have pockets to put sand in to weigh down the sunshade however, Kelty does have a sand bag stake accessory to hold down the sunshade if you cannot stake it down traditionally. Thank you! Camp Club
