Fantastic phones that work well in houses with thick stone walls.
Brilliant. We live in a very old stone cottage with 2 ft thick walls both internal and external. Dragging the cottage into the 21st century with wifi and wireless phones has been a challenge. For our wireless house phones we had previously bought a long range Panasonic DECT phone 4 years ago but soon realised that this wasn't upto the job and we had to keep 2 rooms away from the base station at the most before they cut out. But as we had spent the money we kept the old Panasonics until the handsets started to flake out. Well that happened at the end of last year and I was happy to look into the alternatives. There wasn't that many which stood out but this BT Elements 1KM phone did. They are larger than normal handsets to house the extra electronics to boost the signal but after a couple of days we didn't notice the difference in size. What we did notice is that the performance was brilliant. We couldn't test the full 1km range as its a bit hilly where we live but we had it working to 300m outside which is amazing. So it can handle our cottage easily. There is nowhere in our 3 storey stone cottage where they don't work. Outside in the garden they are just as good. I can even pop to the neighbours which is another stone cottage 30m away and they work inside their house. Fantastic. The phone works as a normal phone, with no noticeable differences in use. Normal keypad and a very good and very easy and intuitive phone book. The best we have ever used. They also have a very slim belt clip which is useful but in normal use you don't notice it.We were so impressed we bought another set of two and added them onto our system to make a quad system. They might be more expensive that normal DECT phones but as they work in our situation then we couldn't be happier.

Well made and lovely to use
This product deserves a 10. However sometimes it should only get a 2/3. The range doesn’t go further than 100m not 1km and it certainly gains interference from time to time. Lovely product, well made and lovely to use, let down by range and interference issues.

Great Ruggedised froms which are at last fully GAP
I bought these to replace an original set of BT elements phones which have done sterling service for years and then due to something or other started to fail to log on the base. I require a set which would be damp proof, dirt resistance and semi ruggedized..After shopping around I found that buying 2 2 handset sets was cheaper than buying a 4 handset kit.Absolutely no problems at all functionally, logged all 4 handsets onto the one base and labelled than up. The great thing about these are that they truly are fully GAP compatibly so most settings can be done from one phone, the telephone directory is shared (and not contained the one handset, one of the bugs with the original supposedly GAP BT Elements). No problems with call quality but you do have to wait for small time for the answer button to register (it's still less than a second but it's longer than I experienced with the predecessors).Speaker phone is adequate, with the caller not being aware that they are in that mode. Its easy to set up call blocking but we recognise the normal junk calls so just don't pickup. The 2 things I can't comment upon are1) Range, they are adequate enough to reach thru this 3 storey, solid build property but I haven't taken it for a jaunt up the road. Don't require that use so I haven't tested it. If it does then I would (using the bigger ariel)2)The answer phone, don't use them, don't really need then but it is a useful addon if you did.The actual design with the external ariel is a through back to the old days where all cordless phones had one and does look like a hand held radio, which some people may not like, the buttons are clearly labelled and you require a firm push to actually engage on some of them, which may get easier over time. The display is adequate. What more can you say about good working phone

Decent product.
We have some thick flint walls and this still works, as clear as a bell, in the back garden with the base in the front room so going through 4 walls. One thing to be careful of is where you place the base unit, it interfered with my Hive when they were close to each other.

Does exactly what is said it would.
I am very happy with my purchase. The BT Elements long range DECT Twin pack looks to be well designed and very easy to use. I am disappointed however, that only a quick start up guide is provided as I would have preferred a printed User Manual as there are many functions that really do need detailed instructions that are best read from a printed User Manual. Battery life is good. Sound quality great and ringing volumes very goo too. All in all I think this is a great product and does exactly what it was designed for being waterproof and rugged.

Huge range, no so good battery life.
Robust solid phone, so much so there is a heavy duty, somewhat agricultural feel about it, and maybe a little bit clumsy. The range is good enough for us it reaches the bottom of our garden some 200 yards away from the base station with good quality sound. I haven't had the need to try it further 'afield' but there was no fluctuation in the signal at this distance. I think a compromise for the signal distance is battery capacity because we can't get more than an hour's life off the cradle and in use. Five stars when the battery works better but only three because of it.JC
