Professional Sound and Build Quality for a Fifth of the Price
I can’t recommend this microphone enough. The sound quality is fantastic, especially when compared to microphones at a similar price point. This thing punches well above its weight class in sound quality. It has a very similar sound quality to the Shure microphones in terms of its richness and depth. It also comes with the Maono Link software, which lets you fine tune your EQ for the audio. The software even has presets to make it super simple to change the vocal profile. The software is simple to use for every level of customer. The mic comes with a heavy duty metal mic stand/plate, and when I say heavy duty, I mean it. You’ll be shocked at the weight of the stand, which is great for keeping the mic stable on a tabletop. The mic is USB and XLR compatible, and it comes with a really nice XLR and USB-C to USB-C/A cable (with swappable adapter on the end depending on your setup). The mic itself is extremely attractive and resembles the higher priced mics you see in pro studios. It is built like a tank with an all metal body that feels tough. I wouldn’t be worried about it falling over and getting damaged; it’s substantial. It also comes with a plush windscreen that does help dampen a lot of outside noise, and it deepens your voice. The mic has a physical gain knob on it to control mic volume, it has LEDs that indicate your levels and that move as you speak to warn you of clipping at high volumes. The gain knob can be pressed, which switches the gain knob over to controlling headphone volume, and another press of the knob switches to colume control over headphones and mic gain together, which is great. The other standout feature is the tap to mute button on the actual mic. It’s not a true button you press that makes a ton of noise when you press it, it’s a simple tap-to-activate button that’s super convenient when recording. This is a legit pro-quality mic for a fifth of the cost, and it delivers at every level. I was shocked at how good it sounded out the box, and even as a USB mic, this thing sounds fantastic. It is well worth it. Beyond that, their customer service is top notch. I had an issue with my headphones not receiving audio on the mic, and they are willing to help me out and replace the mic even though I’m outside of my warranty window. They say they stand by their products, and they clearly mean it. I’ll be using this mic for a long time, at least, until they come out with a new and better one 😉 This is a must get for any podcaster or voice recording artist who wants pro-quality audio at a fifth of the price. You will not regret getting this beast.

Outstanding Value for a Quality Dynamic Microphone!
The MAONO Dynamic Microphone is an impressive piece of gear, especially considering its price point. As someone who uses microphones regularly for podcasting and streaming, I’m thrilled with the performance this mic delivers. The sound quality is clear, rich, and focused, capturing my voice with excellent clarity while minimizing background noise. One of the standout features is that this mic offers both USB and XLR connectivity. This flexibility is fantastic, as it allows you to use it with a wide range of devices. Whether you’re plugging directly into your computer via USB for a quick setup or using an XLR interface for a more professional audio chain, this mic has you covered. The build quality is solid, with a sturdy design that feels durable and professional. It’s easy to set up, and the mic works well with various audio interfaces and mixers. I also appreciate that it’s versatile enough for different environments—whether I’m recording in a treated studio space or a less controlled setting, the MAONO Dynamic Microphone consistently delivers. What stands out the most is how it compares to other dynamic microphones at this price range. It holds its own against much more expensive options, making it a fantastic value for anyone looking to upgrade their audio setup without breaking the bank. Overall, if you’re in the market for a reliable, high-quality dynamic microphone with both USB and XLR options, the MAONO Dynamic Microphone is a great choice. Highly recommended!

Customer service and product are phenomenal.
I bought this as an upgrade to my Astro a50, because the mic on it sucks. But this new microphone while not being a completely budget microphone is definitely worth the money. The software is phenomenal as well. If you're like me and your beginner at using studio type microphones, then this is a great entry point with good software to get you started. I don't really do any actual studio recording, but I play a lot of games and I got tired of my microphone sound like I was FDR telling people about Pearl harbor. It's a really small and heavy duty microphone. It's made out of solid metal except for the gain knob and the screws that hold it to the mount. Other than that it's fantastic. It has some weight to it so it feels nice and premium, and overall just a fantastic microphone. The sound quality is fantastic as well especially right out of the box before you do anything with the software. I also want to take note of their amazing customer service. The one that I got originally had a issue with the USBC port, I noticed it after my cats would rub their head on it It would just start disconnecting. So I just sent them an email and they were quick to respond and quick to just issue out a whole new product to me. I received a brand new microphone two days later and this one doesn't have an issue at all. Phenomenal customer service, and a phenomenal product for the money that you're paying. I bought their low profile boom arm as well, huge fan of it and it doesn't make a lot of noise that other people can hear or that you can hear yourself.

Great out-of-box options and functionality, with fantastic performance for price.
Great quality with suitably calibrated settings for use even plugged directly in USB from box. Sound is very pleasant, captures nice balance of richness of base without feeling heavy or modified. Hefty and durable, quality is apparent in build, though requires appropriately sturdy mounting. USB/XLR combo is great for permanent or on-the-go, and the local button interface is both stylish and gives great control over required functionality through quick profile swaps at a touch. Default noise cancellation and clarity is fantastic for regular speech, with phenomenal handling of plosives (p/b/t/etc.), but some editing or adjustment appropriate for fricatives (s/f). Great overall.

INCREDIBLE and Versatile Microphone, but Disappointing App. (I promise that it's still worth it!!)
I've been using this mic nearly every day for 3 weeks straight for different activities. Switching to the Maono PD400x has made a notable leap in audio quality for my stream audio and video recordings, and I don't hear any major loss in vocal quality when singing either. I've only used cardioid and hyper cardioid condenser mics before this one, and it absolutely does its job as a dynamic mic while preserving beautiful clarity and cadence even in a room with NO soundproofing whatsoever. You're given everything you need to start using your microphone as soon as you open the box. The only reason I'm dropping a star is how disappointing the Maono Link app was after it was hyped up so much in advertising and reviews. None of the presets suit my voice at all, and I didn't feel like messing around with the advanced settings for very long when I already have an audio interface, especially when I could hear a difference between USB and XLR recordings. Even on voice calls, people could tell a difference between when the mic was plugged in through USB (default settings, no filters) and XLR (through Scarlet Solo, no filters). Another saddening thing is that there is NO way for Maono Link to work while a Maono microphone is plugged in through XLR. I understand why that limitation exists, but I wish there was effort on the development side to make it compatible in some way as a plain old mixer program. The option to choose between either XLR or USB is nice, but it's a shame that a core advertised feature is only available through one of those functions. While I appreciate the accessibility from both plug options, it feels like a waste to lose audio quality for an app that doesn't work for me. Regardless of my personal gripe, this is still an excellent microphone for the price. If it's your first time looking for a dynamic microphone and you want audible quality for a reasonable price, this is the way to go because it can grow with you and your content. You can start with USB then upgrade to an XLR setup bit by bit, or even just stick with USB if that's easiest for you and gets the job done how you want. The Maono PD400x is VERSATILE to your wants and needs as a creator. Skip that overpriced Shure SM7B and save yourself that extra couple hundred bucks for other parts of your new XLR setup, or put it towards a graphics card upgrade instead if USB works for you. The choice is yours, and that's the best part!

Incredible product for an astounding price! Fantastic Customer Service!
If you are looking for a fantastic microphone for the best price around, then you've found the right one then! I had the Maono PD200X for a couple of years, and I loved that thing to death, so I eventually needed a new mic, so I thought I'd treat myself to a little upgrade for the podcast. However, I didn't have money for some $600 mic, but I wanted that quality so bad, and I found it for way cheaper!! I didn't realize I was getting such a great mic, that when I first turned it on, I was shocked by the clarity, the warmness, and overall tone that it produced. It's SUPER EASY to connect, USB plugged into computer, download the Maono Link, and BAM, you've got a whole equalizer for free and an intuitive way to control the settings. Don't forget the freaking cool button that lets you mix your monitoring! It functions way above my expectations, and has held up to some serious outside noise not leaking in. I have a rather untreated room, so this was crucial that it doesn't pick up emptiness and echoes. Using the settings and finding the sweet spots has really amped up the podcasts sound and even gave me a little bit of a confidence boost, knowing that I can speak easier and be picked up even better. I had one small issue with a sound that I couldn't figure out where it was coming from, and Maono Customer Service showed up like no other! They were willing to listen to every recording, and walk me through steps on how to troubleshoot and fix everything! I haven't had customer service like that, especially with anything tech, ever! I am blown away by their products, and their care for their customers! I suggest going with Maono for all your microphone needs just by this experience alone. Highly recommend, and am willing to invest in a second one in the future! Unless they come out with a new USB model by then of course!

An honest review from a nerdy game dev.
Audio: Sounds exactly the same as a SM7B. Clean audio that has that pod caster sound to it. Build Quality: All metal body, back switches, gain knob and side knobs are plastic. Feels well made. Notes: The mute button is activated by touch which is easy to accidentally hit. The desk mic stand it comes with is small but in a pinch would work. Recommend you get your own stand. The pop filter it comes with is tough to put on and lowers the appearance of the microphone. Does the job. Comments: Do not listen to them YouTube creators who bash this microphone. A lot of them people have invested thousands of dollars into their audio systems and can not stand that this microphone delivers comparable audio for a fraction of the price. You do not need cloud lifters, an audio interface or any of that stuff. Just plug in the USB and GO! This means you have less failure points in your setup and when something needs replacing it doesn't cost you a ton of money as them supposed "higher end" microphones. This microphone is so good it flipped my opinion on the brand and how highly I praised other brands. Rode is a lesser brand to me now than MAONO and that sounds wild but it is true. I tell you the truth, for a fraction of the price you get studio grade high quality audio with nothing more than a USB and this microphone. What a time to be alive! BUY IT!

Amazing Sound & Great for Beginners
I am an armature/hobbyist creator that has been teaching myself as I go. After picking up another mic and not liking the sound of it, I decided on this one. I am so happy I made the decision to go with this mic. For starters, the mic looks fantastic. It is very clean and professional appearing (was even approved by my girlfriend so points for that). It also feels very sturdy with the metal build quality and weighted base. If you decide to mount it to an arm like I have, this can be done very easily as well. As far as audio, for reference, I am using it on USB mode and the sound quality is amazing. It truly sounds professional right out of the box. I was actually amazed when I did a test recording how good it sounded. Now, it has become my main studio mic for my content as well as a podcast. I also have peace of mind knowing that if I do decide to improve my setup in the future, there is integrated XLR connections to the mic. Overall I could not be more happy with the purchase. I don't think there is a better decision you could make for the value you get in this package.
