Very poor quality
We used the product for all of four minutes before it stopped working completely. We tried changing batteries etc but nothing made it work. Even when it did work it was terrible quality and not at all effective or useful. Such a waste of time, money and resources.

Yes, it works!
If you're reading reviews you're likely sceptical - as I was. But we have been treating my daughter for headline caught at nursery for SEVEN WEEKS, and every time we though she was clear she'd start scratching again, and we'd find more of the little buggers in her hair, so we thought anything was worth a try.And good God, does it work. We last treated her with pharmacy-recommended shampoo two days ago, and this comb killed and extracted three adults and five nymphs (juveniles) just an hour ago. A couple of 'em were still twitching when I pulled 'em out of the comb, but it was nothing that a good squish couldn't solve. We're going to be combing her daily with this until every last blasted egg has hatched (the comb doesn't kill eggs, sadly, but then neither has the five different shampoos that we've tried, despite claiming to!). This product is 100% recommended.(Incidentally, my daughter has very thick hair, and the comb still worked fine; you just need to brush it thoroughly before you start treatment. Don't be put off if your kid has thick hair.)

Good for adult head lice
This does work on particularly adult head lice, either killing or stunning them severely. I found loads on the bed after using and brushing my daughter's hair, then picked them up and clicked them between my nails! However, you need to get rid of the lice eggs and break the growth cycle, so for that you need to buy cheap white hair conditioner and use the Nitty Gritty comb and really scrape the scalp every other day thereby collecting smaller head lice to be clicked to death and washing any eggs down the sink. This is why I have given it a four star. I may try it on the cat though for fleas!

Simply put - Grab this to reduce the time you spend getting rid of lice!
My daughter (6 years old at the time of writing) has had two occurrences of head lice. For the first, we did not know about this product. We used one of the combs with short tines to remove the lice and we also used specialist shampoos to control them, but it was a battle we were losing. Since it took a long time using that approach, I found that I did not have time to do that every night. In the end, some friends had to help us with the problem; they had the time to deal with it.When the problem happened again, I did some research and found this product. I have been using it on my daughter for about two weeks and she is now clear of head lice.It does not take nearly as long using this device to eradicate the lice as it does using a manual comb (although the type of comb with longer tines probably works better). I spent typically 5-10 minutes combing my daughter's hair with this every evening (more if lice were identified as present by the comb's noise stopping). The presence of head lice is identified by the comb's noise stopping, and over the last week, that has happened either zero times or one time each night, so I have won the battle.I would give this product 9/10 if I had the option. The head is not attached strongly to the body and I have had it come off accidentally while setting up the unit. It's easy to put it back together, though. It takes one AAA cell and I have not yet had to change it.Overall I am very happy with the device; I would not want to be without it. I can't say whether it's better or worse than the competing products because I don't have them. I can say that this one does the job.

Only lasted for a couple of uses (bought just a month ago)
I bought this only a month ago in September and have used it a couple of times. It was effective both those times, but then stopped working. I have now replaced the battery twice and cleaned the head, but it still just won’t switch on. I would like to swap it, but can’t find a means of contacting the seller online

It works!!!
So my 4 year had head lice 3 weeks ago. I treated and thought they were gone, so last week they're back.I checked her hair and I found 1 live and a few eggs. Removed them and was confident they were gone and I'd got it in time. I ordered this device as a back up, kinda thought it might be a gimmick.Anyway, I visually checked her hair today and I found 1 live lice and a few eggs. I'm a paediatric nurse and know how to check hair. Also my daughters is so fine and short, I can't even put it in a ponytail, so it's quick and easy to look through her hair.... so I thought!! This device found 5 full grown lice!! I nearly died.It emits a low hum and when it zaps a lice the noise stops, so you know to go slow and remove the comb from the hair. 5 it found...5! 1 was still wriggling. I can't believe it. I'm shook.
