This is fine for ice cream, it's just basic rock salt. Any product labeled 'rock salt' can be used to make ice cream.

Q: Is it safe on a brand new sidewalk?

No !!!!! It caused large pock marks on our 15 year-old sidewalks

Q: Is it food grade? Salt crusting meats?

I have food grade available at molina sea salt 50 LB bags or less quantity depending your needs.

Q: Is this safe to use in place of ice cream rock salt? It is cheaper and since it does not actually get ingested???
