Q: Can this be snipped to go around a curved back chair?

Yes. Make small incisions to approximately half way across the width, this will allow you to 'pleat' the back tacking strip around the curve. Make sure you don't cut into the side that will form the curved edge.

Q: Does this have a sticky back or do you have to tack it on? I am new to this so any help would be much appreciated. I am recovering a French chair

You tube should have a demo to help. I upholstered my second chair during lockdown & ordered items through amazon! Picture chair frame then fabric and strip placed on top to give a smooth firm edge. I then stapled through the strip, fabric onto the wooden chair frame. Now fold the fabric back over the stapled strip. Used mainly at the top back of my chair and down the sides of the arm wing.
