If its not my grip, its my stance! Practice makes pefect.
This item has really helped me to ensure that our lawn at home has not got damaged by my wayward use of a 5 iron. I like to practice with irons at home and use practice balls rather than real balls and a net: I simply don't like to leave a net up and I don't possess sufficient enthusiasm for the game to keep on putting the net up and down every time I feel like taking a practice swing.Set up is obvious, you roll out the mat on the lawn, or any hard surface, indoors or out and simply play. I haven't used a tee with my mat, although you could insert one should you wish. It has been particularly beneficial for me when using short irons when I am practicing a chip or chip and follow on. There would be divots all over my lawn without it and I see this acquisition as money well spent. Are there any drawbacks? Well you can't leave it out on a lawn (kills the grass), but you might wish to leave it on a patio. Storage is easy, after a session I leave mine wedged against the fence to dry off and roll it up and store in a lean to; effectively outdoors. Hardwearing, durable and good quality, I can only recommend this item for home use.

but pretty good value and does the job
A bit thin and should have bought some rubber backing to put on the back of it - you would need that if placing on a hard surface. But protects the grass. Have had for a few months and increasingly used, almost daily, by 2 teenagers. Is beginning to wear thin in a couple of places, but pretty good value and does the job.

Very pleased.
Very pleased with this, I have used it for about a week now and it is holding up well. It is big enough to stand on when swinging an 8 iron, and seems pretty strong. It is also very portable. I bought this mat and the cheapest net I could find and for about £40 I now have a net in the garden. My pro tells me I need to work on rotation - I am doing so, and having a home practice facility is really helping.

Downside with this mat is that it doesn't fold out ...
Downside with this mat is that it doesn't fold out flat properly after being stored, unless you have somewhere to screw it down its ideal. That said the mat is ideal for stopping you churning up your lawn if you want to practice at home.

To small
Cut poorly with zero care. So small you cant hit anything more than a 4 iron.

Under Par and not in a good way....
This is not going to be what you're expecting. Its not at all like the quality that you might find at a driving range, I think it would be more comfortable displaying fruit and veg in a high street greengrocer. I've not hit a ball off it yet as its a present but I shall be returning it as it's not fit for purpose.

Good quality mat if used on a hard surface. Requires rubber backing if used on grass.
Item arrived as described by seller, but to make it a better golf mat, it could do with a thick rubber backing to it as described on earlier comments from buyers. This you can pick up from the likes of b&q and then glue together with a spray. Also if seller is reading this, can you offer different sized mats? Just a thought. Otherwise it's a quality mat on it's own, but placed on a hard surface. If placing it on grass, (so not to destroy your nice grass) it will need a hard backing to stop it from deforming when you stand on it.
