Q: Can you still have a doormat on the inside of door or will this push it away when the door opens?

Hi Sally, if the doormat is slippery, it most probably will push it away when opening. You can put some rubber tabs underneath of the doormat to keep it on place and then adjust the draft stopper little higher and that will definitely work. You can install the velcro fasteners as high as you like but you don’t want to compromise on blocking the draft either.

Q: What are the handles for?

I use the handles to store the stopper when not in use.

Q: How does the stopper stick to the door, is there any kind of adhesive strip?

They come with some sort of pre adhesive velcro tabs. I found them useless. The door stoppers are weighted, so for me, they stay put and do not move - no adhesive neccessary.
