it's probably like all the other enclosures here on Amazon with the same bogus inflated 40Gbps USB4 claim. • JHL7440 ThunderBolt3 chip (~23Gbps data transfer) -- (excluding unused 17Gbps DisplayPort video capability) • JMS583 USB 3.1 chip (10Gbps) ---alternatively--- RTL9210B USB 3.1 chip (10Gbps) the ad first paragraph admits max speed is 2700 MB/s that's equivalent to 21.6 Gbps. practically HALF the advertised 40 Gbps. the 40 Gbps USB4 ad claim is bunk. buy it expecting THAT performance and weep
