Great little TV for the money
Bought this for the kitchen and maybe in a Motorhome in the future. It is great little unit, very easy to set up with very clear instructions on the screen. Unless you are lucky to have a very strong TV signal, you will have to connect to an outdoor fixed aerial. Picture quality is excellent, there is a slight lag in changing channels but nothing to get upset about. EPG is good and you can select program's to record if a USB drive/stick is attached. I like the facility to play media from the USB port. Still pictures look great and seems to play most films I have tried. The remote is okay - you have to be quite close and at the right angle to make it work. Note that you have to manually switch off the unit, it can't be done from the remote. It's early days but I really like this TV hence I've given it 5 stars.

Utterly great little TV
This is such a fabulous item! I've not even used all of the functions and already I love it and would buy it again! The quality is good, picture is great - it's backlit so you can see it from any angle (makes the picture seem bigger somehow) and will be great in the tent or caravan - whilst at home it sits in the kitchen unobtrusively offering some company when needed. I am in a strong signal area and the little area that comes with it gives all the channels, even whilst stuck to the fridge (which is toward the back of the kitchen and middle of the house). May need to buy a slightly stronger aerial for other areas but I can't say for sure. I managed to get a 'used' item so cheaper, it is in perfect condition (box a tad scruffy but who cares about that?!) THOROUGHLY RECOMMEND THIS ITEM!

easy to set up and a good picture quality
It seems a high quality unit, easy to set up and a good picture quality, but the sound! I understand that is a small TV and so the speakers too are small, but Increasing the sound towards maximum barely makes a difference and the quality is very poor - weak and totally lacking in bass and depth - very disappointing! It was a Christmas gift and my partner commented on the sound straightaway, asking if there was anyway of improving it. I have bought a XMI X-Mini II 2nd Generation Capsule Speaker and the difference is amazing,

Good quality picture, compact footprint
A very nice little TV that worked straight out of the box. Easy to set up & found a wide range of channels automatically. Good quality picture for such a small device (I used a high gain portable aerial rather than the one the TV comes with). On-board sound is a bit tinny but that's to be expected and can be fixed using external speakers. Overall, good value.

Brilliant camping TV and media player
Great TV for a campervan, the USB socket is a real boon as a flash memory stick will hold dozens of films. Very easy to use, no real need to read the manual, good viewing angle from all but the top looking down, best leaned away slightly. Very wide field of view horizontally. Good colours, bright and crisp picture. Supplied with mains adapter but the cigarette-lighter adapter has to be bought separately, and beware its 9v not 12. So good, I bought another one for my son! Great Little Portable TV/Radio
August DTV905 9" High Resolution Freeview LCD TV & PVR Recorder / Media Player / Photo Displayer - Powered by Mains or Rechargeable Batteries (Internal) Really impressed by the high resolution picture quality.Pin sharp with the factory-set colour, contrast and brightness spot on. Did the initial channel installation with the roof aerial. All the tv/radio channels that I get with my lounge TV came on,plus 3 extra.I then hesitantly switched to the tiny aerial provided and to my surprise found that the picture was still the same after slight positional adjustments - but then I live in a good reception area. The stereo sound is excellent too, from speakers at either end of this tab - it's a joy watching films or listening to digital radio.Have not tried the USB function yet but I feel sure that'll be quite a bonus. It's not heavy at all and I like the fact that it has a rechargeable internal battery plus the mains,so it's really portable. The handy remote works well but you have to be fairly close to it.The provided manual is basic but informative. It looks good, feels good and is very well designed.Needless to say,I am very pleased with this product,so of course - 5 stars. As a footnote,I must add that the customer service at Daffodil seems very good, ringing me back promptly in reply to an email query.

Disappointing service from August help desk
As others have said, the picture quality provided by this TV is dependent on the signal strength of the transmission. Where I live, I am in almost line-of-sight of the Heathfield transmitter at a range of about seven miles so I ought to get a good picture even with the supplied aerial or the August DTA240 High Gain aerial I purchased with the TV. In practice, I can receive the main channels using the high-gain aerial at the front of the house (which looks towards the transmitter) but not anywhere else in the house - presumably due to the effect of internal walls, etc? I wish to use the TV in the kitchen, so I have provided a signal from the chimney-mounted roof aerial which provides an excellent picture on all channels on other mains-powered TVs. The DTV905 is now connected to this aerial and, when using battery power, produces an excellent picture - albeit with rather "tinny" sound which is to be expected from such a small device. HOWEVER, as soon as the mains adaptor is connected and switched on, the sound disappears and the picture breaks up and is unviewable. Switching the mains adaptor off results in the picture and sound returning. I believe that this may be due to a faulty interference suppressor, but contact with the August help desk proved unhelpful. There appears to be no way of getting just the mains adaptor replaced, so the entire product has been returned to Amazon for a refund. Disappointing! UPDATE Replacement item now arrived which produces excellent picture quality on mains or battery, confirming my belief that the previous mains adaptor was faulty. Regrettably, the replacement has a new niggly fault. Every time the unit is switched on, sub-titles are displayed. Switching sub-titles off using the remote seems to remain effective only until a different channel is selected or the unit is switched off. I also find the User Manual to be pretty useless.
