Q: How can this model be converted to its 1945 condition?

There are alternative parts in the kit. I must say that this is a beautiful kit which will give you many hours of pleasure but please read and follow the instructions and carefully paint the lower part of the hull before going too far with building. I used thin car pin striping tape to give me a smart hull line.

Q: can I get extra brass detail ie guns ladders etc for this kit?

I can’t find anyone selling extra brass fittings. You may have to get them made by someone.

Hi Richard, There are three sections, Fore deck, Aft deck and a centre section for mounting the super structure. I hope this info helps you. It is a beautiful kit when finished. Please paint the hull before doing any serious building and after painting I used car pinstripe tape for the water line but you will need another pair of hands whilst applying the tape. Peter

I used to be into diesal and electric powered radio control boats many years ago. Plastic kits like these are purely decoration. This particular model has also a very short beam. It would turn over. In fact there wouldnt be enough room for the electrics or the engine, or the screw shaft. Other radio controlled frigates etc. Are normally 6-8 feet long which cost hundreds to make.motor torpedo boats are a popular radio control model. But not plastic. Nowadays preformed grp hulls have partly taken over from building wood framed hulls. And bending ply to fit the sides of hull. Also there needs to be top access to inside of boat. Plastic kits like this was never designed to have a part of the superstructure removable.
