Rocket League Collectors Edition (PS4)

I first played Rocket League when the devs held an open beta to stress test their servers well over a year ago. Since then, Rocket League is the one game on PS4 that keeps me coming back for more. It's super casual nature means that you can decide to play for 10 minutes(not that this will ever happen) or play for the whole day. The number of times 'One more game' syndrome kicks in is ridiculous. I can confidently say that of all the games on PS4, I have spent the most time in Rocket League. The skill ceiling is immense, you think you've learnt how to do something, but then you see someone doing something you've never even thought was possible.Since release, Psyonix have added various new game modes including Snow Day (where the ball takes the form of a puck on an icy map), Hoops (a very small map where the goals are raised and parallel to the ground, and the ball is shot upwards so you have to aerial for a kickoff) and the Rocket Labs playlist where they release concept maps in order to road test them for release in ranked and standard playlists. The new Neo Tokyo map began life as Underpass in the Rocket Labs playlist.If you did want something more competitive, there are ranked playlists which will offer seasonal rewards depending on what rank you achieve throughout the season.It should be noted that all the maps that are/will be released for Rocket League will be free, and only cosmetic items such as vehicle DLC pack will be introduced as paid DLC.The collectors edition includes all the DLC packs up until the release of Neo Tokyo with the exception of the NBA flags pack and the movie exclusive vehicles(Batmobile and DeLorean.) You do get access to 4 timed exclusive cars, but these will be available digitally a few weeks after the release of the collectors edition.You get a code in the case to redeem through PSN for the DLCs, so if you want to stay with a digital copy if you already have it, you can. A nifty little collectors edition art print is also included designed by Jay Zhang.Holy cow!

I was sceptical about this, just not a footy fan. (rugby, mans game). However, my 11 year old and I absolutely love playing this. You can team up and select AI opposition, even add an AI or two to your own. It's not so much football, although you can employ some box tactics, it's more just out and out screaming around like a headless chicken crashing, smashing and trying to work out where that huge ball has gone. You can select different cars, customise then as you unlock new upgrades and change arenas. There are loads of features we haven't even explored yet. You can get straight into the action, sort of plug and play, without having to work your way through a learning programme etc. It's proper laugh out loud and I'm sure it's meant to be a more serious game than that. But, for the money, it's hours of great fun and I recommend it.

Was a bit unsure at first as it had been around for while and games like this if you are behind the curve when you join online you get destroyed and never win or there is never one online to play with as they have moved to another game.However i must say the online server are very good at matching you to people at the same or slightly better ability to allow you to enjoy the game. The more you play the more experienced you get and so do your opponents which is good.Game itself is mainly an online game, but those without PS Plus can still play offline against bots or a friend in split screen. Playing online those is what this game is made forVery nice bright visuals which are a pleasure on the eye and with games usually being 4 mins long. With the odd stoppage for a goal keeps it very fast pace and constant changing of opponents/team member meaning one game is never the same.Like the game due to the fact you can just pick up play a couple of games and drop unlike some of the other like COD where you get sucked in for hours.Great game!!

Very good game, it has both offline and online features so it also is suitable for those without PlayStation plus. However, this game is aimed to groups of friends and online multiplayer, as it has great online play with game modes such as 1v1 or 2v2. Rocket League adapts both football and racing, to create an essential game. This game never gets old and should be considered to anyone new to ps4 or looking to get an endlessly fun game. At just £26.99,at the time of writing this review, this game is a must have and provides many hours of fun.

The game is really great and original for the first few hours. However it can get a little bit boring and repetitive after that. Although there is a single player mode, the online matches are the only thing which is any fun.I played it a lot for the first week but have not touched it since as there is nothing really to achieve in the game. You can get new cars and colors and modifications through playing, but they do not affect the performance of the car so you do not gain an advantage.

This game can be obtained through the PlayStation Store for nothing! Extra features and vehicles are free apart from named sponsors. Good game all the less! REALLY BRILLIANT!

Was quite excited for this, even though I dislike both sport and online-muliplayer games, and I absolutely love it. I really like that It's playable both online and offline, and even more that there is a local multiplayer option, so I can beat the crap out of my friend ;)You also get really fired up playing, and I am diffently gonna play this a lot in the future.. Also the price is just ravishingly cheap for the content.I would diffently recommend this game :)
