Q: Will this gel actually hurt an attacker?

I've thankfully not had to use it, but from the research I did before I purchased it and the videos I watched it's more of a marker. The attacker wouldn't be able to see because the more they try to rub it out of their eyes etc the more it would rub in. They wouldn't be able to see anything so you would have chance to escape as they'd be essentially blind. The paint would stay on them for days of scrubbing and if they seeked help then by then you'd have filed a report and it would be pretty obvious they were guilty as they'd be covered in the marker. Its a great idea if you live in the UK where things like tasers and pepper spray aren't legal to use, maybe couple it with a whistle to use for after you've marked them

Q: whats the difference in the TIW farb gel and this brand?

I believe they are the same product but sold under different labels. Probably originally manufactured in the same factory but sold to different suppliers.

Q: How long is the shelf life on this product? Want to know if I should bulk buy or just get the one.

I've had mine over a year, luckily I havnt needed to use it. Test it occasionally and still works ok. Hope this helps

Q: Is there a lid? I am worried it will spray in my bag if pressed against other items?

It does not have a lid. HOWEVER it has a seal which is not broken easily.The seal stops it from being sprayed in bags and pockets ect. But after the first use the seal doesn't work.Hope this helps!
