Really handy and has unlimited uses. I bought it originally to put in my pillow case to keep me cool but to be honest it was to uncomfortable to put my head on for sleeping. So undeterred I decided to try using it in other ways. I've slept on it... Which was brilliant! Im a side sleeper so put it under my hips. Extremely comfortable and kept me cool enough to get off to sleep and stay asleep. I then tried placing it under my feet when going to bed. Again, brilliant. Normally my feet search out a nice cool spot when going to sleep so this worked perfectly. I've also used it folded in half and draped it round my shoulders and kneck, I have osteoarthritis which enflamed my shoulders sometimes and this worked a treat. I've also recently had carpal tunnel surgery so I fold it over and slip my hand and arm inside, saves me getting an ice pack out, and works great. The fact that it can go anywhere I go, and I don't have to freeze it is a huge bonus. I'm definitely going to buy a few of these are Xmas pressies for family this year. Well worth the money.

Bought for our 5 and 9 year old kids who often, easily overheat, especially during the occasional heatwaves we get. The cooling mats dont stay cool all night but they definitely stay cooler for longer compared to a cheaper type one we got for them a few years ago. This cooling pad is thicker, as it is filled with more cooling gel inside, which is why it can stay cooler for longer. For those heatwave days, we put it in the fridge for a bit to boost its cooling effects and it has all worked out great. Our kids complain less during the heatwaves and get a better nights sleep because of them. Also, its great that these can be easily wiped downed to clean, and are thick enough that I dont think it will be easy to puncture or damage.

Bought one of these because I can't stand the hot nights, as rare as they are in the UK! Was very pessimistic but at the price it was worth a go. When I took it out of the box I was a bit worried as you couldn't feel the coolness and it was very heavy but the first night I placed it on top of the pillow and must say the cooling was fantastic, albeit a bit of a strange feeling. Surprisingly comfortable to lie your head on as well. Awoke a few hours later and the coolness had subsided but was delighted to see that just flipping over to the other side worked. The third night was particularly hot and the pillow didn't do a great job but placed it in the fridge during the day and it was very cool with a pillow case over it. It doesn't stay cool in hot temperatures all night but I doubt you will find a product that does. So far therefore very pleasantly surprised and may buy another for my feet!

Very effective for relieving my back pain

Not as good as they used to be as they appear to have thinned the gel inside so it moves out of place inside, so cooling effect is lost where you want it unless you have a rectangular head of the same size! Otherwise ok.

This JML gel pillow is the original High Quality product, far superior to the cheaper Chinese imported products that you might find for lower prices. This has significantly more gel inside, which means it remains cool. It also doesn't have a seam down the middle, which the cheaper products seem to need to stop their minimal gel content from pooling at the edges.We've had a few from various suppliers, and despite the higher price tag we'll always be buying this one in future. Highly recommended.

As for longevity the get breaks down inside which is inevitable the performance may a nothing lasts forever. Beneficial generally up to a point.
