Do you need to use filter papers.?

No. It has a permanent filter - a little basket to hold the coffee grounds . The permanent filter can easily be cleaned by running it under the cold tap after emptying out the used contents in the bin . Surprised neither sellers nor the manufacturer give this feature prominence . It cheaper and less fussy than filter papers .
