Like it, has killed both flys and mosquitos so far. It is early in the season, will hv to see hos it copes with lods but doing ok.

Prior to this particular insect killer I had purchased a much more aesthetic version; if Dyson did insect killers it would have looked like the one I bought: square with elegantly rounded corners, a discrete UV light embedded within the frame and a nicely symmetric grid. You could hang it on the wall and it looked almost like a piece of art. Beautiful. But useless. It just didn't work. Not one fly died. So I went in the other direction and bought this. A perfect expression of brutalist, American industrial design: large, ugly and crass where function is the only consideration and form merely a four letter word .... This device has no end of design flaws. The materials are cheap, the power cord far too short and located for some bizarre reason at the top of the device rather than the bottom. The hanging chain looks like a complete after thought and positioned in such a way that if you do hang it on the wall (assuming you have a power socket at ceiling height in which to plug it) it will not hang flat but cantilevered away from the wall. So why 5 Stars? Because it WORKS. It does the one thing that it is supposed to do brilliantly - kills flies. Actually it kills everything foolish enough to come into contact with its overpowered electric grid: wasps, moths, hornets, midges... one touch and BANG! like the crack of Doom (and it really is amazingly noisy) another flying nuisance dies, or, at least fifty percent of the time, just explodes such is the power coursing through the grid. You can hear it clear across the house. The dog hates it, but after about one hour of being on all flies are dead. So if you want dead insects, buy this. You will not be disappointed.

I have updated my review, but left earlier comments. Now I would say, great unit, one of the better solutions and avoids the expense, smell and hazards of using insect sprays. Now I am used to the issues I highly recommend, just look below to save hassle when getting to know your unit. This a great little unit, plug in and ready to go. However, the unit makes a loud electric spark with a bang as an insect flies in, and this makes me jump everytime if I'm near. Even though I have a small kitchen, flies can buzz around the room for ages before going near the unit. Also, it hardly seems to kill outright, usually stunning flies. They recover after about 5 minutes, then find themselves incapacitated without the use of one wing. They then buzz around, fanning other dead insects out, or climb out. Some are killed immediately, but they are immediately incinerated, goodness knows where the body parts go as they disappear, although you may find an incinerated fly head on your kitchen surface. The insect collector is not sufficient on it's own. Needs to stand inside another container that is at least 10 cm wider around all sides, and with a 3 cm lip. Do not leave food below the unit or it could result in frazzled fly parts as an unwanted ingredient. I am still using so need to give it more time.

This is our second purchase. The last two be we had for over 7 years and no issues. Ideal in summer months.

After reading hundreds of reviews I decided to buy this to attract GNATS. I read in each review that it was so loud like a shot gun, it startled the pets and everyone still jumped. I could see no visable flys however, noticed slight movement when watering. I, would rather not have house plants 🪴. I use, every method to eliminate neem oil, hydrogen peroxide etc! This, item is not ugly it’s not to big and the wire could be longer but it’s not a major issue easily fixed. It’s, a beautiful blue night light too!!!! AND WITHIN THE FIRST HOUR IT DID ITS JOB WELL WORTH THE MONEY CANT WAIT TO SEE WHAT IT IS LIKE WITH LARGE FLYS IN THE WARMER MONTHS. I WILL SEE HOW THIS GOES AND IF IT STILL WORKS WILL BUY ANOTHER FOR THE KITCHEN DOOR AREA! BY THE WAY THE NOISE IS NOT LOUD , DOES NOT SOUND LIKE A SHOT GUN I WAS SHOCKED HOW QUIET IT WAS AFTER READING HOW LOUD IT WAS!!!!!!!! NOT MANY REVIEWS FOR IT ON THE USE OF GNATS SO I HAVE LEFT THIS FOR ANYONE DESPERATELY WANTING HELP WITH THEM OR HATES THEM AS MUCH AS I DO!

Our kitchen HAD been overun by flies for the last few weeks. Bought a cheaper and smaller zapper, which turns out to be utterly useless!! This thing is out of this world good. Hung it on the kitchen wall and within minutes, the zap of it's first victim sounded. Very easy to hang up, very easy to use, very easy to recommend. If you need a zapper, then please pay that bit extra and buy this one, as it simply works with zero issues.

This is the real deal! Ultra death, frying, burning and outright lethal killing machine for anything that decides to go near it (thripes although do escape as they are tiny). I installed this at the back of a kitchen cabinet as my neigbour reported flies actually explode and are blasted away from it sometimes. So, I installed with a nice fly death area infront of the unit and let it do its thing. I lost count how many times I jumped as the crack from something hitting the grill is quite something and quite loud. I watched a large blue bottle fly get literally electrified and then burned to a sinder. Then the death and destruction came. Crack after crack until most of my house was fly/bug free. Literally the best fly killer I've ever seen. After one night it looked like carnage on the grills and the collecting plate at the bottom. It would be handy is if came with a cleaning brush as they do get literally fried onto the grills and you do want to clean it. Just be aware that they literally explode and end up in front of the unit or a few feet away so don't have it near food surfaces.

ARRIVED IN GOOD TIME, EASY INSTALL NO BELLS OR WHISTLES JUST DOES WHAT ITS SUPPOSED TO. GOOD PRODUCT WELL PRICED
