The product replace a broken hdmi plug. You have to ohm out the wires since there is no wiring standard

the wires need to be inserved from the inside, not from the outside which makes it a bit less convenient for my purpose (cannot put in dupont male jumper wires on both sides as they clash with each other and you need to do small flexible wires only), but works fine otherwise.

I bought this because my HDMI cable connector had broken off. It was a 40' run through the wall and I wasn't able to refish a cable, or pull the old one out. THis fit the bill, but I spent quite a bit of time testing the continuity of all 20 wires to get them correct, then I had to insulate some to get them to fit in this small connector. If you have the option, buy a HDMI over CAT6 converter, it would have been much easier. You need a super tiny screwdriver to work these screws. The job took me the better part of a day as I was on a ladder and had crappy light and had to get the wires measured exactly so they didn't touch each other.

Broke the end on my HDMI cable that is behind the wall. Could not find any company able to repair the end of it. Bought this and was able to repair it myself for a very low cost. Great product and does support HDMI 2.0 would greatly recommend. Hardest part is figuring out the pin layout as it is different for all cable manufacturer. However there is a HDMI tester on Amazon you can purchase to test the pin layout.
