Zacuto GH5 Cage

Don't buy. Overrated, overpriced, will damage your camera due to tight fit. One of the worst cages I have ever attempted to use. Save your money get a cheaper cage with a better fit.

I read the previous buyers review, but still my arrogance got the best of me and I purchased this cage..... WHAT A MESS, the fitment is HORRIBLE, it caused a deep scratch on top of my viewfinder and the neck strap eyelets were very off. One of the eyelet screws busted attempting to fit the cage. It's going back and I'm picking up a SmallRig....

Bar far the best cafe for the GH5/GH5S. Yes, it’s tight - but you want that rock solid connection to your camera. Take car putting it together and have some patience and it will be worth it. This is a cage that you leave the camera in - it would not be for someone who wants to take it in and out of the cage. The placement of the side NATO rail mounted handle is perfect. Took it all over Italy during a shoot and it held up like a champ!

Having three points of contact for mounting the camera has been absolutely invaluable to me. I do a lot of work in action sports and am constantly moving my camera in all kinds of crazy ways. Most commonly it’s mounted on a Glidecam setup and I’ll say right now that i’ve never had such a damn sturdy cage. Especially when it’s mounted with my Shogun Inferno (if you are considering the Inferno, definitely take a look at the mount they made specifically for the GH5 cage). It’s not the most expandable cage setup, but what it does cover, it covers with excellence. I attached a photo of my setup minus some cords and my follow focus (haha Just a tad lazy at the moment). Anyway, I’d definitely recomend this cage! It treats me well. :) Atleast for the last week or so that i’ve been using it.
