Flawlessly dependable and cost effective
I purchased two of these drives for a Buffalo 220 nas. They have worked flawlessly for over 5 years. And only now, one may be failing. They are not the fastest drives (I'm sure the nas contributed to the lack of speed) but for backup purposes they are just fine. And they were a little noisy but in a tucked away place not a problem either. As a home alternative to faster ssd or cloud, this is a very cost effective setup for specific applications and time frames. One other great feature was a 3 year warranty on the drive that was never needed. In fact, one of the drives died after five years. At this price point, that’s a great roi. Highly recommend this product.

Best deal on storage. (If they last)
This is a review for the Hitachi-HGST Ultrastar 7K3000 HUA723030ALA641 3.5in 3TB SATA 6.0Gb/s 7200RPM 64MB Cache variant of HDD.Shipping was estimated for two weeks. Drives came in 3 days after I ordered. Excellent shipping times and packaging. Nothing special, but it got the job done well. Just installed the drives and they both are running excellent. They are running cool and quiet. Already did a few large transfers from the old hard drives these replaced and everything went smoothly. The only factor that could change the rating is if they don't last very long, but for the price I was willing to take the chance. Plus it's back by a 1 year warranty from the seller and they seem to have a good track record. So far I highly recommend these drives and seller.

Good price (2 years ago) , somewhat loud
Purchased November 25, 2017 as a storage hard drive for pictures, videos, files, etc.I never noticed how loud it was until I removed it into a docking station. It's definitely audible when it spins compared to an older hitachi deskstar 1tb 3Gb/s from 2010. The older 2010 is whisper quiet, whilst this 3tb has a very low hum; you definitely would not be able to hear it over a graphics card fan, but when everything is idle this is the loudest thing I hear.So far for almost 2 years of use I have not had any errors or issues. It must be a gamble since it is a refurbished product!Update 2022 November, still running strong! Drives are now being used in external enclosures and no longer running when the computer is on, might contribute to longevity

Great Budget HDD, Don’t Expect Too Much
Very Good budget HDD, I know these are renewed HDDs so I’m not keeping important data on them just games. The hard drive is very quick and seems to be working great. Only thing I’ve noticed is it has a knocking sound when I start up games that have to load a lot in. Overall 4/5

LIked it and worked as expected
I built my own Gaming PC for the first time earlier this year and it wonderful. The only thing is I only had a 1 TB hard drive for all my games and that filled up quickly. I saw this Hitachi 7k3000 and not only was it a good amount of space 3 TB but it was at an affordable price. Got it installed it formatted it and it was good to go in no time. Very happy with my purchase.

Stay away! Completely UNRELIABLE!
I am done with these!! Figured I would give a couple of these try since they were just back-up drives using them with my Black X external hard drive dock. Took hours getting all my data redundantly copied to both. Next time I had to access a drive, one came up as corrupt and one seemed OK. I had one replaced through Amazon and figured it was a fluke. The one that was working has since gone as unreadable and the replacement has as well. Tried older hard drives that I have and they all read fine in the same dock. Even using these drives redundantly is scary! STAY AWAY!

Brand new, no bad sectors.
Just received my disk, so if this ends up failing catastrophically later down the line, I might change this. However, the SMART test showed that this was actually a brand new disk, with no bad sectors whatsoever. Looks promising. With a full-year warranty, this is definitely a good buy for backups or storage of easily downloadable media that you have access to (aka movies and games).

Cheap, but loud
I know I'm going to have to replace this sooner than later on account of what the noise it's always made means, but it's worked so far and the price was right.
