Small Size, Big Impact: Like a Paper Burrito
My parents are downsizing and gave me boxes of Christmas ornaments and household items. Needed something easy to safely pack them away and preferred to use a “green” alternative to bulky, non-recyclable bubble wrap. This RanPak Geami is great. 100% paper. Was rather straightforward setting up. There’s a bracket to hold the box temporarily in place on the edge of the counter-top (or table.) There’s a white cardboard knob (looks like a toilet paper tube) you insert on the side to tension the paper. Once the tension was set properly I didn’t have to touch it again. The paper feeds nicely and consistently.Found out I could wrap more than one ornament at a time and “bundle them.” My wife and kids had fun experimenting with the Geami, and even did some crafts with it. Keep in mind you get A LOT of paper. Still have some left over after packing seven big totes of breakables. With its versatility, will be using this for our daughter’s move to college next month.

A good choice.
Glad I decided to give thus a try. I found it easy to use.

Easy, great wrapping product!
We just got this set-up and only have used for a single day for our company shipments. Plug and play - easy to set-up basically a one step process and once you get the tension right, easy to use.The paper itself if very unique. I never thought you could stretch paper and apparently you can. Took a little to get the hang of it but the look is not like anything I've seen. The look is just way cool. I'd use it for gift wrapping as well.Happy we can find a recyclable product and not use bubble wrap.

Not so great
I love the idea of this paper "bubble wrap" and the presentation is very nice with the white tissue paper on the inside. I had two issues that were deal-breakers for me:1. The paper has to be pulled tight as you wrap the item in order for the hex cells to expand and provide cushioning. Despite the tension knob, the paper would not stay pulled tight as I wrapped, which means the cells didn't expand well and it was basically like wrapping the product in regular Kraft paper (meaning not much protection). No matter how much I tightened the tension knob, this issue persisted.2. There is no cutting mechanism to make a clean cut. Instructions show the person just tearing the brown paper and the white tissue paper by hand, which leaves a rough and ugly edge that the video shows is simply tucked away and kind of hidden. My experience was that this rough edge could not be well-hidden and just looked kinda bad. And even if it was hidden, it would show (and look bad) when the customer unwraps the product and sees that rough torn edge. Not the professional look I'm trying to go for.My solution to both issues was to take a "guillotine" style paper cutter and cut lengths of the tissue paper and hex cell paper separately (which was really annoying to have to do), then wrap my products in tissue paper first, then in the hex cell paper while holding one end to ensure the paper is pulled tightly and therefore that the hex cells expand and provide the necessary protection.Since purchasing this product, I have found another product (Hexcel Wrap) that is just the brown hex cell paper (no white tissue paper) and it's 1400 ft for $80, vs 450 ft for $78 for this product. So much, much cheaper and I plan to just buy sheets of tissue paper separately (also dirt cheap) and wrap the products in it before using the hex cell paper.Overall, a great concept and I love the idea of using recyclable paper instead of plastic bubble wrap. The execution just didn't work for me.
