If you connect a phone as the load it, phone has a mode to show charging rate. Usually in demos a light is used as a load. The kids see the light and feel the resistance. It makes a great demo. the light can be a compact fluorescent or led about 10 watts of an led strip. Ken

Yes it does provide exercise. The power box 50 would be better but they both provide exercise as they convert mechanical energy to electrical. Ken

When you say a small portable generator with an A/C outlet you mean the products that have a battery and inverter packaged together. They call them generators for some reason but of course they are not. This pedal generator with the 12 volt charger we sell can charge a 12 volt lead acid battery. The 50 watt unit we sell has a 12 volt socket and output. Many of these so called generators can be charged from a 12 volt socket so that will work with the 50 watt unit. If the "generator" you have has a wall charger and it is a switching charger of less than 20 watts you can plug it right in as well. If you can send us the model you have we can look up the technical specs and see the ways the battery in it can be charged. Thanks Ken

Q: How well would the power box pair up with the Jackery Explorer 160 lithium battery power supply?

You would need to invert the power from AC to DC. Also, the output of this model is lacking. You might try one of those boxy blue hand crank DC gennies. The handle can even be bent to improve the rotation speed. They also have two usb ports.
