Space saving, secure, with redundant power supply and multiple entry methods.
The vertical design makes great use of space, and I love that it present the gun with the grip facing up, ready to grab. It fits anything from a full size to a micro and has a slot for an extra mag. The biometric unlock makes it super fast and with a PIN and a key as fallbacks I'm confident that I'll be able to get to my gun even if my hands are dirty, wet, wearing gloves, whatever. The mount feels super sturdy, and you can remove it from the mount with no tools BUT the safe has to be open which is crucial. The mount is reversible as well so you can mount it on whichever side you like. It was very easy to program and so far has opened reliably. I would recommend programming the same few fingers multiple times from different angles to improve fingerprint reliability, it can store up to 20 fingerprints. Overall I think it is worth the price and is about the best I could expect for a little bedside safe.

Solid, reliable pistol safe - USB power with battery backup
Excellent pistol safe, I installed it as described in the instructions and the mounting method is rock solid.I really like how the combo buttons light up when my fingers hover above them, this is perfect when the room lights are out. By default, pressing the combo buttons make an audible beep; why would anyone want that in an emergency situation? Luckily, the beeps can be disabled so no issue for me there. I use my code at least once a week just to practice and make certain I remember the code, its been months and the system works flawlessly. The safe runs on a usb c connector with battery backup. I've tested with usb and no batteries, usb with batteries, and batteries only. All methods work with no issues. I installed batteries and usb c for normal operation, confirmed operation, then pulled power from the usb c wall wart and confirmed failover operation. So access to my pistol is guaranteed even in a power outage.I haven't tried the fingerprint reader, generally don't trust those for emergencies. I have used the key with no issues but again not something I would plan to use in an emergency. When the lock is released, the pistol drawer slides out fully and reliably. An led in the safe turns on when the drawer opens, allowing me to clearly see the pistol grip. Pulling the pistol out of the foam sometimes pulls the foam a bit out of place as well, but I don't find this to be an obstruction when accessing the weapon. I have considered using a little glue to keep the foam in place, simply to avoid reseating when putting the pistol back.Bottom line, I found this product to be rock solid and met my every expectation. Highly recommend.

Easy to mount, set up and use.
Finger print doesn’t always work. Sometimes you have to hold just right to get it to open. Found it locking out more and more finally just started using the code which defeated the purpose of a biometric safe. When it does use the finger print it does pop right open super quick and is convenient. Mounting was easy and the gun does fit sup nice inside. We did find that our laser and flashlight attachments snag a bit but you can take the foam out to reshape.

As advertised, slim and inconspicuous
I was all set to buy the Hornady unit which has a horizontal configuration and holds two guns with a clock to hide its actual function. A lot of complaints about the clock being inaccurate and I was concerned about the size on my night stand. There were others that had bought the Gloryfire safe and I liked the finger print reader over the proximity tags on the Hornady. I also liked that there was a USB plug as well as battery back up along with two keys if all else fails. The install (on the side of my night stand) went well with some modifications. I had to swap the mounting plate from the right side to the left and I added four spacers between the back plate and the night stand so the sliding drawer cleared some trim. The slide out drawer is spring loaded and comes out in a hurry and also has an LED to light up the weapon in the dark. This safe is ideal for mounting near your bed for easy access in case it's needed in a hurry. It easily holds my Sig P320 or a Colt 1911 and one magazine. One curious thing though is that the enclosed instruction manual clearly states no loaded handgun should be stored in the safe - Huh? Thought that was the whole purpose of having the safe, what good is an unloaded handgun in case of emergency? Nice safe, would recommend.

Fingerprint scanner sketchy
At first, I loved this thing. I bought it in November 2022. It was easy to mount and super sturdy. It worked well. Never was able to get the fingerprint scanner to work properly. So, I just used the code function and no biggy. Well, about 13 months in it started randomly freaking out and beeping. The batteries were good and I keep it plugged in next to my nightstand. So, like WTF. Now, today May 2024, it will not open without the key. It just beeps and beeps, non-stop. With new batteries and being plugged in, no dice. For $155, I thought it was too good to be true, and it is. 12 month warranty, so not so great. It you do buy one, get the extended service plan. I suggest buying a Vaultek Slider Series SE20 essential. I bought this also based on the size of the gun you can fit in here 9+ inches. My Kimber 1911 full size just fit perfectly. It would be a tight fit in the Vaultek, as it accepts overall length of 8.87. My guess is this Gloryfire safe is made in China. Go figure.......Let's go Brandon!
