Thermal image camera was delivered following day post order. It comes in a great little carry case with leads and there are clear instructions to setup which is really easy to follow. For IOS go to the App store download app plug in camera to phone via lightening connector and it turns on in a matter of seconds. The camera will be used to troubleshoot repairs, spot potential faults, and record images in the auto trade but as you can see from images I have had a play and scanned my wife after training, a house, and a motor car engine. All images are clear and give a clear temperature reading. You can also take videos which may be useful to share your results. This is a good quality product with user friendly application and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a compact Thermal image camera.

Fantastic little thermal camera, I have owned a FLIR one gen 2 for a few years now and was very happy with it until the internal battery started to decline. I saw a review of the TC001 and thought I might try it as a replacement to my FLIR camera. I was very impressed by this product, so easy to use, just install the app from the play store and plug it in and it's ready to go. The 256x192 resolution makes a great improvement on the FLIR camera and I was surprised with the detail it shows. But what really makes this unit superior over the FLIR camera is the 25Hz frame rate compared to 8.5Hz (due to US export control). The FLIR camera uses two cameras, one thermal and one normal and used their MSX technology to combine the two cameras which gives really good image detail with a lower thermal resolution and I thought this would make the TC001 inferior but this is not the case, comparing the two I prefer the TC001. Just one more point to make is some reviews say the image\video periodically "stutters or freezes" this is completely normal as the camera has a shutter that calibrates it from time to time as most thermal cameras do. To sum up it is a very capable camera at a great price, I highly recommend it, only for Android devices currently and it also works on a windows PC. The Android app is very good with a lot of options to add measurement points (compared to the FLIR app), the windows app needs to be improved a bit but I believe is quite new currently and Topdon are planning to improve it in the future. There are a lot of features I have not mentioned in this review as it's getting a bit long.

Excellent little IR cam. Perfect for electronics - you really don't have to pay 2 or 3 times as much for higher resolution cameras, this is more than adequate to see hotspots and components. Also perfect for anything else you want to inspect from wiring to radiators, to your roof to see where heat is escaping. The app is solid. Comes with a carry case for protection and a short extension cable if and when you don't want to physically attach it to your phone. Very happy with it.

This device seems robust and fitted to my phone with its cover thanks to the extended USB-C port. I liked everything about it apart from image uniformity. Viewing a surface of uniform temperature, say a plaster wall at 18C at a distance of a few cm, gave a temperaure that was 1 to 2 degrees higher towards a couple of corners. It might not seem much but on some image settings and low contrast subjects was like vignetting (slightly offset) on an optical image. My old HTI-A1 camera was more uniform. However, it appeared more uniform at 30C, and in any case you would be unlikely to notice it where the subject is much warmer than the background. In other respects, image resolution and clarity, temperature range, image noise, field of view, close-focus distance (about 10cm) it knocked spots off the HTI, and that is without the app, which is easy to use and adds a lot of useful features, all for less money than the average selling price of the HTI three or four years ago. Having an appendage stuck in the USB-C port is a little more awkward than the stand alone HTI but, with the addition of some velcro, the supplied USB extension would allow a more camera-like experience.

To be honest this is a piece of kit I would really miss if I didn't have it. Aside from checking for heat leaks from the house and how efficient your radiators are operating, the camera can be used for detecting animals or (as a colleague does) when the alarm goes of at his social club in the middle of the night - this camera is the first thing he grabs! Temperatures of objects in the TopDon app are also a huge bonus. The extension lead enables the unit to be used more effectively and the modes... there a nuances beyond my understanding in the app which would probably make the camera even more useful

Easy to use. Install the App and away you go. Pictures are clear and temperature appears to be accurate when tested against a temperature probe. Makes tracking down heat loss in areas a breeze! Also great for testing heating systems efficiency etc. My only criticism is that the USB-C connector could have been a tiny bit longer to allow you to use it in conjunction with a case. Ordered a Small cheap USB Extender Adaptor though and that's fixed the issue.

This was a bit of a toy originally, maybe useful for fault finding etc, but these reasons were mainly me coming up with reasons to buy one! It was sekected as the resolution is higher than many of the competitors but its costs was still reasonable, and I was happy to have it plug into my phone. However since the 'play' period, I have found it so useful from checking for a (human) temperature, viewing the swelling from a sports injury, spotting an issue in a broken fridge, confirming the heat of LED strips (to confirm not too hot), finding faulty electronics and watching collegues be amazed you can see the foot prints across a floor! As for the use, once you have downloaded the needed software, for my Android phone I just plug in the Topdon, which is immediately recognised with the app firing up, and its just ready to use.

I purchased this for two jobs. To check the insulation in my house and to see where wildlife were up in the trees when out with my camera. It performs very well in the house, is very sensitive and has a good resolution to you can see what you are looking at, less so out and about looking for wildlife. There is an option to overlay the mobile phone camera over the units thermal output so you can align the two camera outputs. This makes it far easier to detect items that are of a similar heat level. The wildlife issue is about how big they are and if they are giving off heat. I take alot of birds and they are so insulated with their feathers that the small birds can't be seen. Larger birds and things like squirrels that keep totally still when they see you are detected if you turn the contrast up high and switch to the black and white screen output option. Obviously things like deer are fine and can be seem hiding behind light bushes. Want to try to see if it can see bats flying but that is for later in the year. I keep the thermal camera with my photo gear because it is so small, so when I go out I have it at hand.
