Aura Drone with Glove Controller

The media could not be loaded. Flying this drone is lots of fun…way easier than the standard joystick approach, with great control via a set of simple hand gestures. The drone comes charged so you can use it right away. Just plug the connectors together on the drone and on the hand controller, turn the controller “on” to sync it with the drone, and press “takeoff” to start flying.Tilt your knuckles toward the drone to send it away, toward you to bring it closer, and turn your hand to the left or right to steer the drone that way. You can even make it do a flip (although this uses up the rechargeable battery faster).You don’t actually have to use the glove to fly this; the controller can be strapped directly to your hand (although kids will love the glove idea). The drone is very light and durable and should survive most learning curves. Actually, the learning curve is amazingly short because of nice features that cause the drone to hover after takeoff and prevent the drone from shooting off into danger like most other RF toys.I would definitely recommend this for adults as well as kids. Once suggestion is to mark the tops of the connectors with a small piece of colored tape to make connecting them easier. Note also that it’s important to turn off the hand controller and resync after each flight. High ceilings are not required but definitely add to the fun. I've had drones and helicopters before, but this is definitely the easiest and best.

Thought it was a cool product. was fun at first for my 11 year old son. Unfortunately after a couple rough landings the cage snapped! And its is unresponsive to the controls. I understand its less than 100 dollars but come on. He was only able to play with it for a week and now it sits broken. think the cage should be better made to with stand some impact.ITS FOR KIDS!Sincerely,unsatisfied with the product

In theory, this is a great concept and awesome toy. My kids loved it for about 3 days. Now it's banged up and broken. Is that the toy's fault or my kids? Who's to know but I can't return the kids so I returned the toy. Otherwise, awesome!

gifted it for a birthday present and it worked great at first but within 24 hours it wouldnt steer at all and would go straight to the ground.

This drone is absolutely amazing, and so much fun. We got this for our grandson, who is ten. The innovative controls are the best! The controls are in a strap that goes around your hand. The glove makes it look cool, but you don't have to wear the glove if you want. The glove fit me fine when I tried it, but it is not designed for larger men's hands. You move your hand up and down, left and right, to control the drone. There was a little learning curve. Also, we ended up "calibrating" the drone every time we used it, which takes a second or two, and that drastically improved accuracy. Now our grandson can do flips with it, and is doing really cool moves. You have to be facing the little blue light on the drone, or it goes out of control. If you get the drone going really fast away from you, it tends to turn away from you, and then it crashes into the wall without control. Go more slowly, and keep it in control, and it is thrilling to do it, and to watch it. It is definitely an indoor toy, because it is very lightweight, and the wind might carry it away. This does not have a camera, so you can't take pictures of your neighbors. I highly recommend getting an additional battery, KD Interactive Aura Drone with Glove Controller Rechargeable LiPo Extra Battery – Official Aura Drone Accessory, because the battery only works for 5 to 10 minutes. I also highly recommend getting the additional charger, so you can charge two batteries at once, KD Interactive Propellar Accessory Pack Replacement Parts. The bumper rings on the outside protect the drone from damage when it crashes, and we haven't had any damage yet. The extra charger comes with replacement propellers, but we haven't needed those yet. This is the best drone for kids, in our opinion. Just remember to "calibrate" it often.

Battery life is about 5 minutes, and my 9 yr old has a very hard time controlling it. Positive, it didn’t break as easy as most do. Also it doesn’t fly very high. Kid disappointed and frustrated = unhappy mom

Well, Christmas is locked in this year!We bought one of these to check out as possible gifts for our grandkids and nieces and nephews! (11 in total!) It is a great toy! And we decided it is great for us adults as well! Even though some of our grandkids are younger than 6, we decided to get at least one drone per family, and more for the families with older kids. It is easy enough for younger kids to learn to fly, yet also challenging enough to keep them (and us!) entertained. I can't wait to master the flip shown in the video posted here! In our "test trial" we learned that the drone has a maximum height so that it doesn't fly so high you lose control. The red frame that protects the drone is flexible enough that when we crashed the drone, it and the drone withstood that.And lastly there's a button you can press to make the drone land safely anytime. The hand controller is awesome--the kids are going to love it! We will all be together for Christmas and I can't wait for the all of the fun we are going to have with these! Christmas shopping is done! P.S. We have flown and recharged the drone numerous times and had no problems with battery overheating as one reviewer said.
