4.5 stars!
If you enjoy fake dating or fake engagement trope with forced proximity, then this book is surely for you. Meghan Quinn's latest rom-com is a light-hearted, funny, adorable and entertaining book that had me burst out laughing at some particular scenarios! It was full of romance, witty banters, desperate touches, some steamy scenes and palpable chemistry."Business. Opportunity. Cane. That’s what I need to focus on, because Little Miss No-One-Calls-Me-Leiselotte might be just the woman I need. Smart. Quick on her feet."Huxley Cane was just another billionaire who was looking forward to snag a deal with a delegate who didn't seem to be too impressed by his cold exterior. So in order to catch his interest, Huxley fakes about having a pregnant fiance but the problem is that he doesn't know how to find one in mere four days. That's when he meets Leiselotte (Lottie) Gardener, a beautiful stranger who seemed to be lost while casually strolling in his neighborhood and his whole world is suddenly turned upside down."She’s a spitfire. For a little package, she packs a powerful punch."Lottie on the other hand, was as desperate as Huxley. She wanted to get a rich husband asap because she had been fired from the job where she worked for her arch nemesis and wanted to prove to her that she wasn't a total loser when they were about to face each other again in their highschool reunion. When she runs into Huxley in his neighborhood, they somehow manage to learn about each other's situations and come up with a fake engagement plan which works out in both their favors.“I hope you have a sleepless night.”“Sweet nightmares,” he replies back with such a level of snark that I think I might have met my match.I loved both Lottie & Huxley as individual characters as much as I loved them together. Lottie was a quirky spitfire and Huxley had so many shades to his character. One minute he could be all funny, playful and charming and the next minute he could totally appear closed off, grumpy, moody and curt. But Lottie managed to get under his skin by constantly ruffling his feathers. I loved that quality about her because she didn't back off whenever she felt that he was withdrawing away from her, she brought him out of his shell. She was sometimes impulsive, short tempered, clumsy and stubborn but when she started showing professionalism and maturity, I loved her quirks because they made her unique in her own way. I ended up loving the story and it's perfect flow by then, I just couldn't put it down!

Insta reels made me read it
A fake date romance, Huxley and Lottie had my heart, best part of the book was when Lottie gave her last punch to Angela, toxic friendships can be really depressing but Lottie’s character shows how she came back from it and ended up with a “Rich husband” of course!!A must read!!!

Funny, steamy boy, so steamy, and a cute love story.
Have you ever had the feeling that you absolutely loved the story when you started the book? You loved the protagonists - their camaraderie, their banter and the way they connected the moment they met. You are laughing and chuckling at their antics and feel so glad that you picked the book up. Then bam!! You are wondering what happened? Where the hell did the hero go? Is he the same hero you loved in the beginning? After putting in so much effort and working so hard for the company Lottie has been dumped by her so-called best friend. Now she doesn’t have a job and very soon she won’t have a place to live. Huxley is a ruthless businessman and is used to getting things done the way he wants. So when he is unable to seal a deal with a potential client he tangles himself in a web of lies by hinting to the client that he is engaged and has a pregnant girlfriend. Realizing that both of them can help each other, they sign a contract wherein they both will help each other out of their mess. Both the protagonists are funny, smart, upfront right from the beginning. I loved Lottie. She is unabashedly honest about her feelings and her wants and she is hilarious,My problem was Huxley. I loved him at the beginning, the way he empathized with Lottie’s situation, spoke to her honestly, their banters, the way he tried to woo her into accepting the deal - I loved it! But the minute the contract was signed he became an altogether different person and I was not expecting it. I wanted the ‘pre-contract’ Huxley! You do come to know the reason for his behavior but somehow it took the fun out of reading the book.Funny, steamy boy, so steamy, cute love story. I really did enjoy it. I gave 3.5 stars and not 4 because I got upset and I missed that cute and charming Huxley!!

OMG!!! So so good!!
I went into this book thinking it would be one that I would read and forget.I have never been so happy to be wrong. This book is amazing!!! The banter between the two main characters was so good I actually found myself getting angry/annoyed on the female main characters behalf. Then I would start laugh crying because of something they said or did.Ok I’ll say it… this is the perfect book.Dear Author,Thank you for restoring my faith. I was in a big book slump (months) and haven’t read anything that actually made me feel anything. This book made me laugh, cry, get angry and sometimes it happened all in the same chapter. You have a new fan and I can’t wait to read whatever you come out with!!

Cute rom-com
5 ⭐️ 3.5🌶.This is the first time I read Meghan Quinn's work and definitely won't be the last.Wow, I really enjoyed reading this book, truly laughed out loud, the spice took its time to arrive though (don't know if Meghan is a Slow Burn writer) and when it came it was totally worth it. I specially love when a book shatters my heart, that feeling in my chest... when the hero really messed it up and is trying to get the heroine back, idk it does something in me as if I like to suffer 🫠Huxley and Lottie are everything 😍, once Huxley opened up and showed the real him to Lottie things started getting very well between them, oh and I think he fell for her first. Lottie a very funny, spitfire, kind-hearted woman, who put everyone else before herself, I love her.
