Very Powerful. High cfm and high db at top speed. Variable control helps!!
I ordered the 8" unit to be used as a kitchen cooking hood exhaust and it arrived today. It appears to be very well made! I set it on a towel on the kitchen counter to check it out before proceeding with an installation which could take a day or two with custom fitting and climbing around in the attic, mounting the variable dial inside a nearby cabinet, wiring, etc. So I plug it in, attach the speed controller and away we go! This thing is extremely powerful.. I had to hold it back by hand because the force was tremendous! I think 831 cfm may be a bit too much for my exhaust hood application. I realized right away that turning it down to about 1/3 was probably sufficient and the sound DB level was tolerable. I tried unplugging and re-plugging it into the wall outlet and it started up just fine on the lowered speed setting so this will be how I use it, set it and then just switch it on and off. Still having the extra speed if ever it's needed, by mounting the control dial in a nearby cabinet or close to the exhaust hood. I have also ordered the 6" model at 405 cfm which may be better suited to my application. I will evaluate the smaller, quieter one when it arrives in 2 days, and return one of them. Bottom line: The 8" 831 cfm inline fan is incredible if you need that much air-flow!!! Attached video demonstrates the power and noise level and I only turned it up about 3/4 of the way because it moves across the counter if I go higher! Amazing power!

Long lasting, quiet, adjustable speed
I have had 2 of these going 24/7 for at least 18 months to create a negative pressure in my basement and pull the moldy air out rather than letting it rise. They are quiet, have a nice adjustment for speed, and haven't failed. They were relatively easy to mount and connect to the vent pipe. If I recall, you have to take it apart at the clamp to attach the mounting bracket to your wall; it is important to pay attention to how the parts go back together.

A very effect airflow boost for long duct runs
My friend remodeled his house resulting in the relocation of his washer & dryer to the very center of the building! A vertical run of 4" duct to the attic & 28' of horizontal duct to vent his dryer! Obviously we had to add a boost fan! His dryer accumulated water inside and the pipes soon plugged with lint. This duct fan rescued his ability to dry his laundry again! Honestly his house would have burned down if this fan hadn't been installed. The device itself is very basic...it's simple to install! The fan may be used without the remote speed adjustment/power switch if you are connecting it to a timer or switched outlet - simply unplug the speed controller and the fan will run at full speed when powered on. Coming up to speed does take a few seconds regardless of whether the speed controller is used or not. Four inch flexible duct fits easily over the intake & exhaust ports. I used a few wraps of vinyl tape on each flange so that the flexible duct would not slip off after it was clamped on. We used long nylon zip ties to hold the duct on the flange and it worked very well...an airtight and secure connection was accomplished with the addition of foil tape on the outside of the union. Airflow is very good too! The output of the fan is noticeably higher than the output of the clothes dryer. If the dryer is turned off and the fan remains running, the fan sucks hard enough that the air can be heard entering the sides of the dryer door when it is shut. The fan's baseplate is probably the simplest way to mount it but we suspended the fan from the rafters in a nylon rope sling to isolate the vibration. It's almost silent when operating in the attic, I cannot hear it in the house at all! This thing works well and I'd certainly buy it again. It's a great value for the price point. Two thumbs up!

WOW! Impressive…
I know what my expectations were when I purchased this, but this fan has greatly surpassed them! At 405CFM air intake with variable fan speed, this fan can really kick out some serious airflow! I can’t say I will ever need to use it on full blast, but it’s nice to know that I have it if I need it. A great product and would absolutely recommend this fan. It’s also quiet, although not “whisper” quiet. When turning it up to full fan speed, there is a very small amount of vibration, but only at the maximum fan speed. For this price point, I would say it’s a good value. I will also say that the fan itself (the entire housing) was a tad bigger than I thought it would be, but manageable. Functions just as it should and then some! Again, wow.

Strong and quiet ventilation fan
Works very well and quietly. CFM airflow is strong as described. Use it to ventilate a workshop and it works extremely well. When you first turn it on it takes a couple of seconds to spin up, so be patient. Speed modulates well after that. Highly recommended.

Pretty quiet, feels well made
I own a 5th wheel RV that has an office in a dedicated slide out. (Jayco Pinnacle 37MDQS) There is only one 4" duct that supplies this room and it gets too hot. If you leave the door open and have a fan to push cold air in from the rest of the RV, its tolerable but there is no privacy. There is also an interference problem with the fridge door. Poor design. Anyhoo, found the duct in the loft area and added this inline. It accomplished two things. One, when it's turned on, it QUIETLY greatly increases air flow. We never need more than 25%. 100% is a hurricane. Two, it adds a little restriction when turned off directing more cold air to the rest of the RV. I did alter the controller so that the cord comes out the back so the mount can sit flush. This should be an option from factory IMO. So, it works great, its quiet (balancers on the blades) and seems like it's built to last. Well worth the $.
