Find Your Why: A Practical Guide for Discovering Purpose for You and Your Team [Sinek, Simon, Mead, David, Docker, Peter] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Find Your Why: A Practical Guide for Discovering Purpose for You and Your Team Review: A Practical Guide That Makes You Think About Your Purpose in a Real, Useful Way - Find Your Why was a really helpful read for me. I’ve read books about purpose before, but this one takes the idea and actually breaks it down into steps you can follow instead of just talking about inspiration. It makes you slow down and think about what really drives you — not just what you do, but why you do it. That shift alone made the book worth reading. I liked how the authors walk you through actual exercises to uncover your personal “why,” and then extend those same principles to teams. A lot of books talk about purpose at a high level, but this one gives you structure and questions that help you dig deeper. It made me reflect on my own values, strengths, and the moments in my life when I felt the most fulfilled — and how those connect to what I want to do going forward. It also does a good job explaining how teams can find a shared “why,” which is something that can really change how people show up at work. The examples throughout the book make the process feel relatable instead of overwhelming. If there’s one drawback, it’s that the exercises require time and some honest reflection. This isn’t a book you skim and instantly get the full impact — you get out of it what you put in. And if you’ve read Start With Why, some of the ideas here will feel familiar, since this book is more of the hands-on companion. Overall, Find Your Why is a practical, thoughtful guide for anyone wanting to better understand their purpose or help a team get aligned around something meaningful. It’s simple, clear, and genuinely useful if you’re willing to do the work. Review: Join the movement, be inspired, inspire others and Find Your Why!! - From the days of Socrates to the more modern Stephen R. Covey and Victor Frankl these timeless teachers have made it clear that we are all purpose driven. In an age of constant running and forces competing for our time, energy and attention, Find Your Why brings us back to a deeper sense of fire, passion and purpose upon which our lives ache to be built. The authors are remarkable in that they outline for us the process for discovering the "why" that already is present in each of us, but for most is waiting to be revealed and acted upon. If you want to create a positive impact on the world around you and more importantly live a life of deeper meaning and purpose, of contribution then Find Your Why will illuminate the path for you. Simon's great book Start With Why informs of the "Golden Circle" and its importance to organization's and individuals, Find Your Why by Simon Sinek, Peter Docker and David Meade is the practical, easily read and implemented process by which anyone can engage in the "discovery Why" process. Many great leadership and human effectiveness books lay out great theory and principles but few actually give you the operating manual to turn that theory into practice. Find Your Why does exactly that! This is a must read, and read again, and again for any executive or aspiring leader, teacher and trainer, consultant and anyone who is in the business of growing human capacity -- pretty much all of us! Find Your Why is easy to read, has a welcoming layout and design that almost makes it fun as you engage in the process of discovering your own Why or facilitating the discovery of someone else's Why. The audio book is excellent and narrated by Stephen Shedletzky one of the Start With Why Team's most experienced teachers! Join the movement, be inspired, inspire others and Find Your Why!!

Very interesting perspective on what is wrong with our country
I'd like it to be a 4.5, simply because this book requires a friend and homework to really find your "why". I agree with Simon on 90% of his premises before reading the book so maybe I am a little biased. The reality is until I figure out my "Why" I won't know what I want to do when I grow up. I've sold a company and retired as a jet pilot. I even wrote a book called "So Now What?", and you can skip my book and just go to this one because if you find your why, you never need to ask "So Now What?".

Scintillating, but practical, yet mind-blowing
You've seen the Ted talk, you've read the book "Start With Why." Were you inspired? If so, I have one question for you (one that's asked in the very first story in the book): so what? Have you ever been inspired by a great book, a heroic act, a great speech, or a homily at church only to have several days pass by and the inspiration has worn off and nothing really has changed? I can wholeheartedly answer "yes" for myself. Inspiration is great, but it can only take us so far. Through "Find Your Why," Simon and crew have turned previous inspiration into present action and synthesized these into a workable aspiration (to live our why through action-oriented "how's" and results-based "what's") AND a side-helping of personal accountability. What's so unique (and haunting if you are thinking deeply about it--and you will because it's gripping) about this book is that it just doesn't tell you what you should be doing, or provide examples of strategies to do what it says, or is a re-hash of the first book: it engages you at your core to hold youself accountable; to not just courageously live it every day and in every relationship, but to have a formula where you can measure the evidence if you are true to who you are. This book reminds us that it is not "End With Why," because discovering it is only the beginning. Because of the principles in this book, I now know when I am out of line with my "why" and have the tools to diagnose the stress caused by "how's" working against my "why," and the empowerment to start, stop, and continue only the "what's" that are in alignment with my "why." Thanks to "Find Your Why," I can actually say "no" for the right reasons. Thank you, Simon, for living your "why" by inspiring people like me to transform into the authentic embodiment of the best version of myself. It should be noted that the audiobook is a great accompaniment to the book. Stephen Shedletzky is one of Simon's best instructors and passionately brings the text to life.

Must read for entrepreneurs!
A great companion to its prequel, "Start with Why". The first book is trying to increase awareness and shift the entrepreneurial go-to approach from carrots, sticks, and other manipulations to inspiring people by starting with an empowering belief or set of beliefs. The sequel "Find your Why" is a bit more practical and offers step-by-step advice to find this inspiring belief at both personal and corporate level. It's a great read and I fully recommend it!

Great Walk-Through On How to Implement "Why" Training for Companies and Individuals
I've been a big fan of the Golden Circle theory for a while. A few years back, I was able to implement it to change around the way that we did business in my department and over time, it rubbed off on our entire company. So obviously I was very excited when the new book was coming. If you haven't read "Start With Why", I think it's pretty important to read that one first. This book does have a bit on the theory, but it's really only meant as a cursory review of the theory. Where this book really helps out is in teaching how to actually go through the "Why" process with an individual or company. So in a way, it's kind of a "Train the Trainer" book and I think it was very courageous of Simon and his team to give away the recipe to the "secret sauce". The book itself is quite straight forward and easy to read and can be completed in a weekend, but is probably worth a few re-reads. What I can say is that while a lot of biz books tend to dabble a lot in theory, this one is very practical since it really walks you through the process in a simple and easy-to-follow way. So for anyone who is thinking of becoming a trainer or perhaps wants to implement this in their organization or even for themselves, it's a great guide and highly recommended.

(3.25) Discover, refine and articulate your “why” by following precise steps. But, a few caveats.
Find Your Why is basically the sequel to Simon Sineck’s Start with Why. The latter book helped readers to achieve fulfillment by understanding why they do what they do. This begs the question: what is your why? If you read the first book and haven’t figured it out, this is where this book kicks in: it’s a practical guide that shows individuals (or a group) the specific steps to take to find their why. On the one hand, this book does exactly what it promises. The authors draw a map, hold your hand and take you along a path and guide you to a destination. There, you should have produced your personal why statement: “to [your contribution] so that [your impact].” Your why now becomes the chief organizing principle of your life and/or your organization. The process will typically take as little as a few minutes to as long as a couple of hours. On the other hand, for those who already read Start With Why, there is very little new content in this book. (And, depending on whether you are doing these exercises as an individual or a group, you will end up skipping half of the text.) Yet, the grand irony is without the first book, I don' think there’s enough substance in this book alone for the reader to properly understand the importance and power of why. The result is that you produce a why statement that is subpar. The one point I will make is that the content here is helpful beyond the scope of business. Anyone can use the advice contained in these pages to understand why they do what they do and thus live a more fulfilled life. This applies, for example, equally for the entrepreneur, the person who is perpetually frustrated in their job, or the creative tinker who is curious.
