GRO Company GRO-Clock Sleep Trainer

This clock has saved my precious beauty sleep! My 3 year old has anxiety and developmental delays, so I was worried he wouldn't understand how it worked or that he would flat out refuse to follow along. We showed him how it works one time, and he has stayed in bed every morning since then until the sun comes up. I have told everyone I know about how wonderful this clock is. Strangers on the street are going to start hearing about it from me. If I were Oprah, everyone would be getting this clock. You get a clock! And you get a clock! Easy to use, easy to reset the time once you get the hang of it, and I haven't found the light to be too bright. My 5 year old daughter is also in the room, and she isn't being woken up anymore either. In fact, the two of them do the "Wake up dance" when the sun comes up every morning. It seems sturdy, but we keep it up on a shelf where the kids can't reach it. The star countdown is a nice feature because it shows if there is a little bit of sleep time left or a lot. I don't pretend my kids really grasp that yet, but if they wake up at midnight, I can show them there's still a lot of sleep time because there are a lot of stars. The book is a cute little extra too. My son now reminds me to set it at night if I forget! Seriously. A miracle. I want to send the person that created this a Christmas card showing our newly well-rested family. Tip: If your child is waking up at an ungodly hour every morning, don't try to immediately jump them to a regular wake up time. It took us about 2 weeks to wean from 4:00 to 6:30, pushing the time back a little bit each day. My son immediately understood that if he wakes up when the stars are still up, he needs to stay in bed.

Fantastic clock! Love how easy it is for our toddler to understand day and night (the sun for day & star for night). This has been a game changer for our mornings. We programmed the 'sun to rise' on the clock for 7am instead of his 5:30am and he waits for simply falls back to sleep as now he knows it is not time to get up. I would have given this clock 5 stars if I didn't need the 2 converting plugs as its European made. I guess no American made clock has yet to come close to this, but it's worth the added effort and cost to get this clock!!

The biggest feature that sets this clock apart from all other children's clocks is that it has 12 little stars that countdown during the child's sleep. That means that if your child wakes in the middle of the night, they can TELL it's the middle of the night because there are still 5 or 6 stars remaining! The other clocks simply show day or night and children have no concept of how much longer they must stay in bed. How disorienting! This clock is amazing and one of our favorite purchases. My only draw-back is that the clock is European and needs an adapter and converter to work properly (both for electrical current and to fit the plugs together). Gro-clock makers---PLEASE make the exact clock with an American-style plug-in! It's a wonderful device!

This was amazing for sleep training my 3 year old. It worked great for 7+ months. My daughter loved that she can see the stars and know it's still the middle of the night. But it stopped working!!! The only way to get it to work is for me hold on the connecter to the back of the unit with a lot of pressure. Clearly there's no way for me to do that at night so it's effectively useless. It's impossible to find warranty support and I paid a lot of money for this.

So this thing is definitely not worth the price. It's pretty flimsy and cheap feeling. Extremely basic. Reminds me of the very first digital alarm clock I had back in the day. But it functions well. And the reason I got this one was because my daughter's whole reason she says she needs to get up is because "the sun is out" so I searched everywhere for one with a sun on it to try and use that aspect in my favor. And day 1, kept her in her room! So I like it, just think it's overpriced.

This product was accurately described and has a lot of nice features. I like that I can set a wake time for nap and morning without an alarm. I also like that the brightness is adjustable. After following the instruction book for setup I now find the device easy to use and adjust but would have been lost without instructions for initial setup. Received this 2 days ago. My 21 month old has used the clock for 2 naps and 1 night sleep. We used it in conjunction with the introduction of her toddler bed. It seems to help and she is already getting the hang of staying in bed until the clock sun pops up. The only negative, which is minor, is that the book is a little high level for a kiddo under 2.5 years. We paraphrase the book and focus on the symbols. We just make a big deal about turning on the clock for sleep. I think this is a great product to help a child stay in bed during the night or until a certain time in the morning, if bedtime routines are already established for the child. I would recommend this product.

We've only had our GroClock for a week and it is so cool! Our son (2) enjoys saying good night to the star. He's still waking up (crying/screaming) at least :30 before the star turns into the sun, so my husband and I have taken turns sitting on the floor next to his crib (to soothe and assure him) until the sunshine appears. There is always a happy pay off; our boy waves to and smiles at the clock and feels proud that he was able to wait until the sun shines. I wish we could report that this clock helps your toddler's patients Gro... It does not. But we're starting this training while he's still in his crib with the hopes he'll master the concept for when we transition him to a big-boy bed. The GroClock is excellent and I'm encouraged by the results. Totally worth it!

Product stopped working within hardly a couple of months use

Not easy to use but works soo well, in just 1 night my 2.5 years old daughter got the hang of it and is staying in her bed till she sees the suns:) for sure worth it! :)

I can not recommend this enough. Great for toddlers all the way up to elementary school. My daughter has always been a light sleeper. Sometimes in the winter it is hard for her to know if it is the middle of the night or almost time to get up. This easy to read clock has made a hug difference in her staying in bed and going back to sleep when it is not time to get up. She is 7 and still uses the groclock!

It has worked well keeping my toddler (2yo) in his crib. He had been waking at 4/430 crying everyday. He now stays in bed til 530 and happily waits for the sun to come up. We adjusted the time by 15 minute increments with a plan to eventually get to 6:00.He’s excited about seeing the sun in the morning and then talks about it for a while after waking. The controls are a little annoying to get used to. They don’t seem very intuitive and take some practice. Make sure you read the manual more than once! Overall we’re happy with it. It’s the only way we’ve been able to keep him happily in bed until a decent hour ☺️
