The minifig is very nice..Speedor is ok..
This set contains the Leonidas minifig (from the Lion tribe) , a speedor , 6 CHI âcrystals, 5 character-cards, two weapons and one structure. The minifig is the only best part about this set. No doubt, itâs a beautiful minifig. Nice printings on the front and back of the torso; even on the legs too. (One minor complaint I have about LEGO is that they NEVER do any printing on the SIDE of the minfig Torso and on the SIDE of the legs..which is bad). The headpiece is the best part. It looks great. But one complaint here is that, the headpiece should have been a single complete piece (like the headpiece in the Ninja Turtles minifigs). Here itâs like you first fix the regular circular LEGO head and then you put the face of the animal (like a helmet) over the head. Anyway, at least the minifig looks good and I guess thatâs what matters in the end.Leonidas comes with two weapons. One black sword (thereâs an extra one, which is nice) and one assembled weapon ,which looks a bit lame. (I hate the assembled weapons from LEGOâŠsince weapons are very small, I wish LEGO would make weapons from a single-mold rather than assembling them). The CHI crystals are nice! The Character cards are ok.Coming to the Speedor. The Speedor looks ok. The color of the speedor is the same as the hair color of Leonidasâ mane, which I felt is cool! But, in general, I donât like the speedors much. The reason is that thereâs one design flaw with the Speedor. Since thereâs only one (heavy) wheel in the front and NO wheels at the back, it wobbles while it moves. But, sometimes, after fixing the attachment at the back, the speedor moves smoothly. Like in this speedor. (Once I fixed the attachment at the back of the speedor in this set, it was moving much better, than without the attachment).Another general complaint I have about the speedor is that everytime you want to fix the minifig on the speedor, you have to dismantle it and again put it back. Itâs very irritating. In the âLegends of Chimaâ carton show, it is shown that the animals stand on the speedor rather than sit. I wish LEGO would have implemented the same in itâs speedor line. The speedor is actually part of a card game, which is lame. Iâm sure even the kids wonât find the card game very appealing. LEGO should found a better way of using speedors rather than using it in a card game. The structure in this set is just about ok. It contains a small waterfall on one side and a small rock-like structure on another. Both are joined by a rod at the top. Thereâs a vertical rod-like contraption at the centre of this joining rod. Thereâs a small build that resembles a lionâs head, which I feel looks nice. (One thing I like about CHIMA sets is that the sets will have vehicles/structures that resemble the faces of the tribes to which the animals/birds belong, which is very nice and creative.) The objective of this set/speedor is very simple and lame. The speedor has to pass through the structure and hit the vertical rod (which you can rarely miss) and then at the top of the rod, thereâs a plate with a ball. The ball will fall over and whichever player grabs the ball, gets to pick the card. And you know the rest. (If you donât know also, donât fret. The Card game is nothing worth mentioning). This set is a cheap way of getting the Leonidas minfig. But you can also get him in the âCrawleyâs Claw ripperâ set which is very good! And also, the price of it is not much higher than this set. So I would suggest buying that set instead of this, provided you are buying this set for Leonidas. I bought this set just because I want to create a small army of lions (and other creatures). Thatâs probably the only reason Iâm buying the Speedor sets.
