great laptop
Things I like:1. great i5-1235u processor (fast and efficient)2. supports 2 external displays (2560x1440 60hz and 1920x1080 60hz works just fine)(one through USB C displayport and another through HDMI)3. lots of ports in general4. build quality is pretty good even though this is a budget plastic laptop5. the 1080p IPS screen is actually really good, very little backlight bleed (a little dim overall though)6. keyboard is good7. privacy switch for webcam8. USB C charging in addition to barrel plug (thought I haven't tested this)9. 8gb ram is soldered with 1 free SODIMM slot, making upgrading to 16gb easyThings I don't like:1. Speakers are bad2. Trackpad is usable but not great. Clicks feel bad and are hard to actuate3. My unit did NOT come with an empty 2.5" drive bay. This means to add more storage you will be replacing the m.2 drive the laptop comes with. I think most other Ideapad models have an empty 2.5" drive bay.4. I thought battery life would be great due to the efficient CPU but it's just okay. It has a small battery so battery life is only about 4-5 hours with regular web use (the dim screen means you will be running it at like 80% brightness, which is probably part of the reason the battery life isn't so great)

Can play games
Was surprised when I downloaded my games that I would play on console like fallout 4 rocket league dead by daylight and Minecraft.I thought battery life would be bad when it came in based on reviews but I am able to watch movies and scroll the web for more than 6 hours before it gets low and can play games for very long time and my laptop is refurbished.

Best Laptop I've ever had - except for one thing
Fast, Quiet, Cool. Am I imagining things, or are the new gen 12 intel processors giving the user a perceivable performance increase? This machine is a Core i5 and it's not an "evo" platform. It just seems responsive. In addition, Lenovo's integration is great. I haven't noticed any fan noise. I haven't noticed any hot spots on the case (both a problem with previous machines).I'm disappointed with battery life. I'd rather not be plugged in all of the time. I don't think I've gotten 3 hours of general use without having to plug in.Case surface shows fingerprints. For the most part, I am happy with this machine.

Good for travel
I got this laptop mainly so I could watch TV/movies while traveling and it has been great in that regard. Laptop and charger are pretty light and small enough to easily fit in my backpack and handle in an economy plane seat. The screen opens up almost 180 degrees which gives me an option on planes to lean it against the seat in front without using the tray table which is good for when the person in front reclines. A 13" screen would probably be even lighter and better overall but this works well enough. Will get about 3-4 hours of media-watching in situations where the power outlet in my seat doesnt work.Trackpad can be a bit wonky registering clicks but it hasnt been too much of an issue for me.

Great Buy i highly recommend
I5 1235u has plenty of power and it semi upgradable, draws back are that it on has one NVMe, so you will have to clone the drive to upgrade you storage, it come with 8gb dd4 soldered to the board and one slot for expansion. add a extra stick of ddr4, greatly improves over performance.Great for med range gaming also,

Student review
As a college student who had a TERRIBLE compute before this my main goal was to find a laptop that was functional. While Yh this is a good computer, it dies in less than 3 hours fully charged. Idk if I wanna return it or not but I can’t rn as it’s finals week. The battery is the only problem 😔

I use it to work at home and it's great
It's very good and I haven't experienced any issues with this device. I use it to do work at home, listen to music, play around on FL Studio and it's great. The screen is small but I knew it would be so I can't complain. Lightweight and nice. A great purchase, especially when I was allowed to pay in payments via Amazon.

Fan noise issue
When first boot up the laptop, the fan noise was already loud, and I thought it was because it was first booting and setup. After the setup is done and shut down all the programs, the fan was running at its max. So I tried to change the laptop's mode and changed the processor power management max to around 50% and still did not solve the problem. If the machine I received wasn't defective and it is how it is, then this laptop has serious fan noise issues.
