It will save your garden, guaranteed.
If you have cats digging up your garden to take a poop and deer that want to eat your produce before you do then this is a must. I have owned some in the past and went through a couple that didn't work from Amazon but this one is like my old trusty model. Two things I had to do to install that confused me though, one, I could not attach a hose since both ends were the same type, male and it's hard to install a male hose end onto another male end. The other issue is the stake is only a few inches long and does not have enough support for the unit. I used two 1/2" rebar to pressure fit up in the oval open area of the stake. Oh, and had to purchase a hose adapter to get hose on as mentioned previously.

Total Junk - Read The Reviews
First things first, everything you read in the negative reviews is true. I've gone through two sets of these, I'm finally on my last one and when it fails (it will, trust me), that's it for me, Black and Decker. First, they don't always sense animals but are excellent at picking up wind motion. We have a serious feral cat problem (cats have more rights in Hawaii than homeowners, that's another tail, no pun intended). We've done everything we can think of to deter these felines who have literally destroyed our yard. First, you're constantly adjusting the batteries since when the sprinkler does finally activate, it jiggles the batteries and won't activate, what a pain. Then, they leak incessantly, no matter what you do, plumbers tape, etc. And the hoses, we've gone through many to correct the issue, even high quality hoses don't attach properly to these units. Lastly, the flimsy plastic they're made of. The units are good for about four months, then they go bad and stop working completely. One neighbor recommended the Orbit 62100 Yard Enforcer. They're not solar powered like the B&D's, but since the B&Ds are such a cheaply made product, the Orbit is by far more worth the investment and extra $$, simply because they are far better, mostly metal made units and last with no hassle set-up. They also don't leak incessantly like the B&Ds. I'd give these a zero as well if Amazon would let me, once you're outside their 30 day return window, you're sunk.DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME, MONEY OR HOURS OF EFFORT ON THESE UNITS.

Starts off Good
Yes! I finally got the upper hand on these cats! The device works great. However, the cats are smart. They would poop just behind the sprinkler. I would have to move it every few days. Then I bought another one because our yard is pretty big. However, like most reviews I've read, they stop working after one season. Leaking is a big issue as well as the over sensitivity. But I have no choice. I have to keep buying these every summer. (water froze one last winter) I'll chalk it up to the cost of having a poop-free lawn! This time arround, I will play around more with the water pressure that I am sending into the unit to see if that stops the leaking. I would hope Black & Decker would see these reviews and revamp their product. I'v bought MANY of these over the years, but Black & Decker seems to be the best one on amazon.

Repelled deer but leaked.
Was effective for repelling deer but the sprinkler head started leaking after a year. Couldn’t get support.

Does the Job. Leaked a bit at first. Xlnt Motion Detection
I had a Skunk who tore up my Lawn because I had Grubs. Took care of the grubs..but he kept coming back to where he found grubs before. Trapping was above my pay grade.Found this "Solar powered Motion sensor" sprinkler. Perfect. No more Skunk.Ok...Read manual. The "Riser" leaked..even w teflon tape...took it out. Leak estimated as 2 drips per hour, so maybe half a gallon overnight...ie..no bueno. After remove riser, out in the sun a few days, no more leaks.Adjustments...clips adjust to 180 degrees or more..or less...Motion sensor goes from 0 to S - sprinkler on all time...I'm at 4...30 feet...it engages cars going by on the street.. Good sensor. (ie..if water is not on...it just clicks...water on...5 second spray 180..)Dial on head is fine spray or wide...I left it alone...narrow spray. This product works as advertised...it takes some trial and error...but for $39.99...No more skunk..AND since I now OWN it...No more critter problems.Lastly...I put a zip-tie on the faucet to show me how much to turn the water knob on...just a few degrees, and it just hits the sidewalk. It's more the shock of the sprinkler coming on than the water, really.Critter problem? this is the answer.And..you can get more of them, and put them in line with hoses connecting.Very satisfied, and it's actually quite a "hoot".Customer Cool 11/3/2023Update: Cloudy Rainy days...and the unit didn't work. It actually had a "red spot" blinkingin the front...like ETs heart...showing low battery power. ie..no Solar recharge.I removed the batteries..put them on a recharge charger I have..and it charged batts enoughso replacing them with a sunny day brought them back.Bottom line: Solar is only good when the Sun is out. Not sure if I'll need to replace batts.AND they are specific...not NiCad...Customer Cool 11/21/23

Motion detector too sensitive
Too sensitive. Turned the sensitivity down to minimum and it activates every couple of minutes with no movement in front of it. The wind moved the grass in front, so I trimmed it down. Still tripping.
