Q: How do these compare to the Simple Modern insulated metal water bottles? Does water in these stay cold as long as in those?

Good question. The water does stay cold for the entire school day and there's never leakage, from what I have seen so far. Also, the cover is easy to open which makes for an easy refill at school.
