This pump has been working absolutely great for us. We had been using a much more expensive brand but only would get 2-3 years out of them. When the last one failed it filled the pond with oil. It took me a week to get it properly cleaned out and safe. One of the other problems with the other pump was that you had choices between HP/Flow that were not quite what we wanted. Too much or too little. This pump can use a speed controller so we get precisely the flow we want for our two tier stream. This pump is lighter weight than the other but since the other one never lasted very long, who cares? I put it in this summer and was pleased that it worked as well as when it was new. I am not happy that I had to put in three separate pumps since I got the pond but I am happy that this one has lasted *LONGER* than the more expensive pump. This has saved us quite a bit of money as well on electricity as we can use the speed controller to reduce the flow to just what we want. The perfect amount of water movement for the perfect pond. And when I want max flow for cleaning, I just turn it up.

For a large pond that needs filtration 24/7. Bought it when my previous pump died. Installed it, plugged it in and it has run continuously since.

This seemed like a powerful pump that worked well for the first three months. Then after being turned off for routine maintenance on another part of the pond it simply would not come back on. The company (halfoffponds.com) then refused to honor the warranty. They would not even Authorize a return so they could look to see what was wrong with it... literally without even looking at it, declared “it must be installed wrong to fail this soon”. After making me jump through incredible hoops specifying every aspect of how it was installed and filling out silly forms that had to be filled out in long hand and copied or faxed back to them, they simply said they would not honor the warranty because it had been permanently installed (of course this means the electrical installation was permanent and not just plugged in…but it was installed absolutely correctly). There was no problem with the way it was installed but this company worked overtime at finding ways to not honor their warranty after only three months. I highly encourage you to look elsewhere because if you have a problem they will not honor their word.

This pump is an excellent value. I love the fact that it does not use oil, which in the long run is a maintenance pain if your pump is not easy to access. Flow is great, no troubles so far. Half off Ponds has great customer service also...

Works well, easy to install, good value for the price. As this is the first time I’ve used this brand, longevity is still to be determined
