All you need is one xbox and a transfer cable. You install the hard drive you want on to your Xbox, then take your transfer cable and plug it into a USB slot, then you plug your old hard drive into the transfer cable and your xbox should ask you if you want to transfer data.

The particular cable I ordered from here was a knock-off that only fit on the original 360. However, the replacement cable I was able to purchase from my local Wal-Mart IS compatible for BOTH original and slim. I just used my new cable today and it worked fine.
