Heavy Duty Linear Actuator 6" Inch Stroke 330 Pound Max Lift DC 12v/24v - Position Feedback - Weather Resistant

I bought this to use in a industrial setting. We've been doing lab testing with this actuator now for a two months and it's performed amazingly. I know that's not a super long time, but we've put it through some hard living. It's been in/out as much as 100 times a day, dropped(more than a few times), accidentally blocked from moving, covered in grease and oil, and various other mistreatments. It still works flawlessly. The only complaint I have is the packaging. It arrived in a plastic bag with not a shred of padding. I don't know if that's on Amazon or the manufacturer, but it was pretty badly beat up when I received it. I would have likely returned it if I wasn't in an urgent need for it and if I wasn't about to ding it up myself.

Using twp of these to position some mirrors to reflect the sun to a solar collector. Tried to very the speed of the actuator, using pulse with modulation (PWM), that worked OK, but the position feed back, from the actuator, drifted when ever I drove the motor with PWM. If I drove the motor with a steady voltage, the position pulses did better, but still would drift depending on how often the motor would change directions. I used these outside, and yes I know they were not rated for wet areas. After about a year, some internals of one of the motors got corroded, and I took it apart, to see how it was constructed. It was constructed very well and also found, out how the drive limits worked

I installed it to open and close the louvers over my indoor pool. After only a few uses, the plunger came apart. Maybe it is only designed to push and not to pull, I don't know, but it did not do the job at all.

This is the third one I bought. When it arrived Amazon forgot to pack the mounting brackets and pins. Zoom Industrial was notified and the brackets and pins were promptly shipped and delivered in 2 1/2 days. Very pleased with the product and service.

This is a very nice actuator, either 12 or 24dc I hooked mine up to a 24vdc supply. I am using it to lift a mattress with under-bed storage in my travel trailor. Surprise at how quick it lifts. Would have given it 5 stars but one clevis pin and two cotter pins were missing, which left me scrambling to find substitutions. Sorry but no excuse for missing parts just lack of care.
