Are these Juniors or Womens sizes?

They have both. Junior sizes will be odd numbers, womens will be even. There is a difference in size however. Juniors are cut a bit different for younger women, less curvy. If you would wear a Juniors 15 for instance, you would go down a size for womens and choose a 14 (sometimes 12 depending on the manufacturer.) Before I purchased I googled the differences in sizes between Jr and Women. Juniors run a bit larger, less curvy in the cut. That said, I ended up with a juniors size and I love the fit and I’m certainly no junior in age lol

I am 5'4" and 200 lb I blimped out due to cortisone shots for my back. I sometimes wear a 12, sometimes a 14, what size do you suggest I should get?

I'm the same high & weight as you. (5"4, around 200#). However, I have an hour glass shape. So bigger hips & thighs. In Old Navy I fit size 19. In Angels I fit 18. In Wallflower I can fir the size 11, but I want a little looser on my thighs so I went with a size 13. All sizes feel very comfortable. I didn't feel like a "stuffed sausage". Lol Amazon also has the clothes thing where you can order & try on for free. Mail back within 7 days. Pay for only what you keep. (Btw I usually wear now days a 14-16.)

what is natural rise? do they rest on the hips or just below the belly button?

I’m thinking they must’ve changed something, because they go up 4” ABOVE my belly button, & I’m 5’4.

Get a women's size, Chrystie style. They have large enough front pockets to hold a small wallet or large phone, plus a pen and chapstick, in one pocket.
