Works well on a cargo carrier and does a great job of keeping your things from the elements.
I used the MaxxHaul 70209 carrier bag with the MaxxHaul 70107 Hitch Mount Compact Cargo Carrier - 53" x 19-1/2" (Perfect fit); I also used the Cocoweb Chrome C-Lock Heavy Duty Locking 5/8" Inch Hitch Pin with Weather Guard Protection(A little extra cost but 2 of them means you don't come back and find your cargo carrier gone after a restful night in a hotel far from home); a Reese hitch extender/lift and two stabilizers(one on the hitch extender and one on the cargo carrier hitch attachment. I used the Winnerwell Anti Rattle Hitch Tightener for 1.25" and 2" Hitches on the extender and the Towever 84701 Super Corrosion Resistant Trailer Hitchs Tightener Stabilizer Cross Clamp No Wobble on the cargo carrier.) I had 7 different hotel rooms stays over the course of the trip. Didn't want to deal with the deafening wind noise from car topping the carrier bag and it's my understanding that the wind resistance also decreased the overall miles per gallon. (I'm all about comfort and cost savings if I can find the right nexus of them together.) Traveled well over 3000 miles across the country to Yellowstone in the middle of August. Encountered light Rain in Denver for about 45 mins and heavy rain in Oklahoma for about an hour. (The bag had a little water and dirt residue on top from the road, car and rain but everything inside remained completely dry.) Unpacked and repacked each hotel stay 4 medium suitcases, 2 sleeping bags 3 pillows (Heaviest/widest bags to the bottom laying flat provides more stability and stacking two by two suitcases laying flat helps the shaping of the carrier bag.) Straps included are plenty long. Once top ones are connected to the bag they don't need to be taken out. Easy adjustment between top and bottom by lifting buckle. Easy removal from carrier by lifting buckle so feeder cable slides through. Lift zip flap, unzip and lay cover back. No need for an additional ratchet strap or anything. The extender with lift allows the carrier bag to not be exposed to your exhaust tubes and also allows you to lift your rear door if using with a SUV hitch. I found it easier and more attractive to simply have the bag face the vehicle. The blank black side then faces rearward so you're not a traveling advertisement for MaxxHaul.(Though I like their product I simply do not like being a walking/driving billboard). The zipper opens facing the vehicle rather than the rear but with the cargo carrier on the extender hitch you have enough room to sit in your SUV and peak into bag/bags without everyone behind you seeing what you are looking for. (Not being weird but if I'm looking for my charging cable in my suitcase really quickly I don't want everyone seeing all my colored undies :-)) There is one thing I had to work on and a suggestion I would make to the manufacturer to make their product pretty nigh perfect. Once cinched down tight the straps tend to trail too long to the ground. Top and bottom buckle are related as far as strap length but even the best placement still meant some straps trailed. I folded them up and tied them back onto the strap using some rubber covered bending wire but some simple velcro straps at the end can easily solve this issue. This kept them snug while on the move and prevented strap flapping in the wind. Great overall set of products that helped make the trip more enjoyable by allowing the kids to stretch their legs a bit more in the cabin and reduce incidents between younger siblings.

Excellent so far. Excellent value and durability. Would 100% buy again.
Update: Cleaned all the road grime, salt and dirt of it, looks in great shape. Minor surface scratching (picture make it look a lot worse) on the bottom, no cuts or gouges and no seam damage with the exception of one corner. Even though some thread is showing, it is not torn and does not leak. Immersed the corner to see if showed dampness inside - none. Still very happy with my purchase. Reminder that this last trip was mid winter across the northern states with snow, ice, sand, gravel and salt and the bottom was exposed the entire time. Next trip I’ll cut out a piece of 1/8” fiberboard to protect it better. My bumper rack is just the Harbor Freight one. It looks way worse than the bag. Bottom line: excellent product, highly recommended. Two trips coast to coast, hot and cold, no damage and when hosed off, still looks new. Bought it August 2022, one trip there and back across the south, coast to coast; in October, next trip across the northern states and back in Dec/Jan. Cold down to -1F, lots of road salt, gravel and sand, still no damage. Pretty impressed overall. Zipper has held up completely as have the seams. Frankly, I didn’t expect it to do so well. I am very happy with its performance. The bottom that took the most abuse wiped off clean, no tears, nicks or scratches. The only difficult part is because the zipper is so well protected, it was hard to operate in sub freezing weather, hard to open around the two corners. With that said, I’m happy it was like that, kept the water, snow, dirt and everything else out, even in the rains of the Olympic peninsula in December-torrential. Fit well in my harbor freight bumper mounted rack. The rack looks like hell; the bag looks, and still is, in excellent shape. Comment: I made this review more comprehensive because when I was looking for a bag, reviews were mixed on most of the less expensive bags. I bought this one even though it was not expensive figuring at worst, I could throw it away at the end of the trip and not be out much. It has over 14K miles on it now and still working as advertised. Highly recommend.

Excellent Cargo Bag but.....
This cargo bag is incredible tough and well built. I used it in the bed of my truck for a very long road trip. I ran into some pretty nasty weather, heavy snow, torrential rain and all my stuff remained dry. I dinged it one star because in cold weather, the material is extremely stiff and difficult to work with. The zipper can be hard to zip but I think that is understandable recognizing it's need to be weather proof. Overall, I would buy this again.

Solidly Made, Works Great
We bought this around xmas 2018 mainly to give us more room in the suv on the way to family’s house with 5 people and a ton of wrapped gifts, cooler of food and luggage. We had he hitch hauler and need a way to protect the items we were putting on it from the wind and weather. We definitely put it though its paces on the first use. It was cold and rainy and we had multiple stops where had to get things out of it. Pros: 1) it held up in the wind at highway speeds without any issues at all 2) absolutely no water seeped into its interior, even though it rained the entire trip. 3) Good solid zippers that are easy to use and hold well 4) fold over flap with velcro that covers the zippers after closing to keep water out 5) several, plenty of good straps to hold it onto the hitch hauler (if you’re using one) 6) Big enough for a large cooler and still extra room for additional boxes and other items 7) additional straps for keeping the stress off the zippers after you close it 8) super thick, tough bottom, sidewalls and lid Cons: 1) none that I encountered. Some claim that this leaked for them, I can’t see that happening if everything is done right. Maybe if its not filled, a loose top might have cavities that would hold water. Since we had it filled(stuffed actually), it wasn’t an issue for us. Overall: highly impressed with the quality of this product. Expect it have along fruitful life for us.

heavy duty, survived 1000 miles in an ice storm/blizzard
I purchased this for a trip from NY to IL and back for our baby shower. We stuffed this thing completely full with gifts and some luggage on a hitch carrier. All the provided straps were more than sufficient. On our return trip, we hit rain which transitioned to a bad ice storm in the midwest. In the Cleveland/Buffalo area, we hit lake effect snow. This kept all of our belongs 100% dry and safe. It still looks brand new almost a year later. This was surprisingly good quality.

Thick material, spacious and tall, nice zipper with velcro flap over top of it during haul
Drove about 1k miles over the holidays and this thing was a must have for the cargo trailer (the aluminum one from HF). Super spacious! Was able to fit my 3 kids smaller suitcases, along with my wife's and mine, as well as some random objects tossed in as well. Zipper was strong. I added one tow strap that spanned horizontally just for extra piece of mind since I like to have things nice and packed down for a long haul like that. Material/shell was super thick, and it down-poured on our drive back, but nothing was really wet, just damp slightly from moisture wicking. Once we got home, it was easily folded up and stored with the trailer, so very easy to use and put away overall.

Thick material, strong tie points.
I was not compensated for this review and I purchased with my own money. I like it. It’s a thick material, thick enough that it’s actually a little hard to work with but once you start getting stuff in there it’s easier. It’s important to note that it isn’t rigid like in the display picture. I considered making a DIY frame for it out of PVC to hold it into a chest like position rather than the “lump” that it becomes when it’s not 100% full, but I don’t think it would work good. If the manufacturer reads this, I highly recommend including a thin folding “floor” piece for this to hold the bottom of it wide when loading. I still give it 5 stars because of the build quality. I’m using it here with a “KAIZONPOT 60 X 20 X 6 Inches Hitch Rack Cargo Carrier 500lb Capacity Hitch Mount Folding Cargo Basket” and the inside dimensions of the hitch trailer are just a tad small depth-wise but it doesn’t matter because the bag is flexible enough to squeeze in. For reference this is a 2020 Escalade. I trust this will be waterproof. EDIT: I’ve returned from a 1600 mile trip to the smoky mountains and can confirm that it survived both rain and snow with no leaking and no water penetration. The bag has proven to be strong and flexible. I stand by my 5 star review.

Worked great for our 2400 mile trip, which included 8+ hours in the rain.
This bag is an excellent fit for the aluminum HF cargo carrier. The weight of the material seems like a nice compromise between heavy-duty and lightweight. The straps work perfectly, with plenty of length even when the bag is completely full, as it was on the return leg of our recent 2400+ mile trip (you know ... shopping and such), as long as your carrier has a rail at the bottom around which you can attach them. In fact, for our setup there was enough length that we tied the loose ends together on top of the bag so we didn't need to worry about them flapping around as we drove. The lip that covers the zipper is very stiff and it takes some effort to fold it up in the corners to get the zippers around the corners, and some portions of the edges of that lip are very sharp on our bag, but once we knew to watch for that we had no issues. The velcro does a good job of holding that lip down, and the stiffness helps with that as well. Our first travel day was about 11 hours, most of which was in the rain, and everything staying bone dry inside the bag. Plus, it was very easy to wipe down the bag with a damp rag after we unpacked and it was good as new. For our return trip the bag was loaded with a large suitcase, a small suitcase, two sets of golf clubs (stand bags, not cart bags), and some miscellaneous smaller stuff. (Side note: the length of the carrier and bag are just barely enough for golf clubs, so to be safe we removed the drivers from the golf bags and laid them in loose when packing.) As others have noted, it is difficult to load the bag by oneself, especially for large items ... it's much easier to have at least one person holding the bag (so the speak) while the other places items inside. All in all, we've very pleased. I'd give it a solid 4.7 or 4.8 stars.
