SolarGuard Plus - Pool Blue, XL Size

I use this during the summer and OMG, it is a game changer! Traditional interior window shades trap heat between the glass and the shade. Even the tiniest amount of space turns the car into an oven. This shade eliminates that heat gap protecting my car (and hands!) from the sun. Temps in my area get to be 90°-100°+ F in the summer. Using this shade keeps my car at least 20° cooler than a standard interior shade and 30° cooler than not using it. Its thin material makes it easy to fold and it easily fits in a seat-back pocket. easy to put on the windshield. Just tuck it under the wipers on breezy days. The size is perfect and the elastic makes sure it fits taught across the entire windshield of my 2025 Hyundai Tucson. I couldn’t be more pleased with this!

Great alternative to the traditional sunshade. Offers better coverage to protect from the sun and keeps vehicle easily 10-15 degrees cooler. Easy to store by easily rolling up and placing in the storage bag that comes with it. It’s a little bit on the pricier side but I’ve used mine for years and just now beginning to see wear. The elastic straps can get overly stretched but it doesn’t affect the usefulness

I have a Solar Guard that I purchased about 10 years ago which is excellent. But the straps to attach over the rear view mirror had stretched out, so I thought I'd buy a new one. YIKES!!! They have "poles" to go down the sides -- in the past, the Solar Guard arrived with these sewn in. Now you have to do it yourself, and they just plain fall out. Won't stay, cannot provide structure - USELESS. This is a waste of money -- I hope they someday bring the old ones back because they really do the job.

This is my second Solar Guard windshield protector. My first, from the same company, lasted about 6+ years! Not only does this protect yur dash from sun damage, it keeps yur windshield perfectly clean AND keeps yur car cool when the sun is blazing😎I’m very petite (barely 5ft)-this is easy to use and rolls up neat when yur ready to go! The design is simple yet extremely effective. I have a RAV 4 Limited and the item fits my vehicle perfect. The shield holds up in the rain, fog and hours of direct sunlight. (When it’s wet, i lay it out to dry and it’s like brand new-easy to wipe clean, etc.) Yu can’t beat the choice of sizes, colors and the price! I highly recommend for those who do not use full car-covers. I assume this one will last for years as my previous sunshade lasted. Enjoy yur spotless windshield daily as yu get into yur nice cool car!

Edit: Putting it on is easy. The only thing I found was the wind affects it. It wants to fly! So when you put it on pay attention to wind direction. It kept the interior much cooler than it would have been without it. The main reason I bought it is the purchase of a product called the comm.ai, which is used to keep the car in the lane and has excellent adaptive cruise control. If it overheats the car throws errors. I think this sun shield is going to prevent that. First impression: The instructions for assembling the rod into the cover are pathetic. There's no other word for it. The person who made the drawing either never did it themselves, or is inept at providing accurate instructions. This is the reason (so far) for the 4 stars instead of 5. Lift the Velcro flap as shown in the sketch, push the assembled rod into the gap and under the silver material (there is a pocket there), then after pushing the rod in as far as you can, stand the uncovered part of the rod straight up on the floor while pulling the cover straight up to remove the bend that keeps the rod from going all the way in. Pull down on the fabric to cover the rest of the rod. Once it's all the way in close the Velcro flap. The case provided doesn't hold the entire length of the shade, but it holds enough to keep the shade under control.

My original “Solar Guard” (circa 2012) kept interior 15 degrees cooler by days end, so I’m hoping this new one protects dash at least. This new one is better than most other brands, but not as effective as my old product. I’ll give it a 3.5 but I’m disappointed.

I don't understand the negative reviews. It's as thin as a sheet but it totally blocks the sun. It's silver on the outside and black on the inside. I like that it's thin because it rolls up small. It has poles on either side that do NOT fall out because they have velcro tabs over the ends. Putting the poles in is no great hardship, and it's a one-time task if you roll it up when not in use instead of folding it. Standard size fits all three of our cars/SUVs nicely.

When I first purchased this item, I was a little apprehensive, but was delighted after using it a few times. Fit is perfect for my Ford F150 A pillar to A pillar. Simple to install. Use it mainly in my driveway so I just put the attach side sections in the doors and close them. Don't need to use the strips around the mirrors unless it become windy. Easy to store, just roll up and throw it into the rear seat. Does help somewhat in keeping the inside of the truck cooler and sun off the dashboard/windshield wipers . Of cause living in Florida it never going to complete cool the inside of the truck. Very happy with purchase, looking forward to how long it will last.

Perfect fit for My Subaru 2024 Crosstrek. Instructions are a little lacking in the placement of the plastic rods. Thanks to the comments of other users problem solved. Now if it stands up to the summer elements it is solution for the problem of interior sunshades with installed dash cams. Easy to install remove and store .

External sun shade- check. Block sun adequately- check. Covers windshield properly - no.. and it could have easily. As others have said, the poles do not have a top AND bottom pocket for the pole to slide into, so the stretchy bands that attach to the mirror pull the fabric inwards and the sun shield in never “stretched” along the length of the poles. I’ll sew in appropriate pockets and then it will work properly. UPDATE- the poles can fit inside the fabric sleeve. The top is by the velcro and the poll slides inside. The white pole should not be visible. Updated to 4/5 stars- poor instructions
