Great Quality
We have an old house and the pipes do not precisely line up. Quick-flex was perfect for the installation of new tub fittings. Much better than what is available from your local hardware stores.

Not flexible
Canât join them together unless running straight.

As a Fernco fan for over 20 years, Iâm very disappointed
Iâve been doing plumbing and home repair professionally since 1996 and quickly learned about the innovation and quality offered by Ferncoâs flexible coupling solutions (theyâre basically the âCokeâ of flexible couplings since myself and literally every plumber Iâve ever encountered refers to any rubberized flexible coupling with hose clamps as a âfernco,â no matter the manufacturer). So, when I recently ran into a drain repair situation that required a unique solution (a double-ended 1 1/2â street/pipe-sized 45âŠdouble-ended meaning pipe size at both ends), I searched for that and came across this.Based on the combination of Ferncoâs reputation for quality and innovation, the product photos, the lack of specific outside and inside diameter dimensions for the plastic fittings included, and the assumption that they surely wouldnât design a product that reduced pipe size mid-fitting (and therefore break every known plumbing code), I mistakenly assumed that the plastic fittings were also 1 1/2â I.D. and would therefore work for my situation. Nope. The plastic fittings are not only closer to 1 1/4â fittings than 1 1/2,â theyâre not even quite that diameter (and itâs not even clear whether theyâre glue-able ABS, even if they were the right size). This basically means Fernco designed a âdrainageâ fitting system that reduces pipe size mid-flow, creating the high potential for choking off the flow of fluid in a drainage scenario or air in a venting scenario. What? Why? Also, how (from a code enforcement standpoint)? Then thereâs the fact that the longer âflexibleâ couplings donât offer any better maneuverability than simply using the appropriate glue fittings to make a swing joint and then coupling the ends together with two standard Fernco slip couplings. This product, as itâs currently manufactured, is useless nonsense from a company that should know better by now. They could easily have fixed this issue by making the plastic fittings standard pipe sizes instead of going the âfactory specificâ route and upsetting and losing longtime customers in the process. I see exactly what youâre doing, FerncoâŠand I donât like it at all. Two stars (the second one is only because I know for a fact that youâre capable of being better than this since you usually are).

Not exact...
The measurements of these is not quite accurate. I used them for Vent pipe connections. I would not trust them with water flow though, even with the clamps very tight.
