Tel-Tru Thermometer Installation Kit for Replacement Barbecue thermometers

Used to install a tel tru thermometer on a Weber Smoky Mountain - worked great.

Great compliment to thermometer.

Couldn't get it anywhere else in New Zealand so luckily found it on Amazon great product and fast delivery.

This mounting kit is very well made and is a big improvement over the flat washer and lock nut that previously held the thermometer in the lid of my WSM. There are flat surfaces on each piece that should hopefully reduce or eliminate any minor smoke leaks from occurring around the thermometer opening. It was very easy to install and it is a fitting mechanism for attaching the thermometer to the pit.

I was annoyed at needing to buy this installation kit but it worked well. The included instructions were helpful, particularly details on the two wrenches needed to complete the installation. The larger one, 1-1/4 inch, needs a slim profile to fit under the thermometer head. It took some time to find one wrench that was slim enough. This kit would be better if they provided a flat wrench in this size. To install a BQ300, I drilled a 7/8-inch hole with a step drill. Took time but worked fine. Adding this thermometer was a nice upgrade on the smoker side. I hope this is helpful.
