More than just heart rate and oxygen
This little device can be a life saver. I have Ectopic Atrial Tachicardia that requires medication twice daily. This device not only gives me my heart rate, but shows graphically how steady my heart rate is (or is not). It's kind of like an EKG. I've had skipped beats since birth and those got worse with the EAT and can kick off fits of atrial fibrillation (the EAT). I now can see how well the medication is working (or not working) and can see occasional fibrillation if it still occurs (it does occasionally). Since EAT can cause fainting, it's important that I'm able to monitor for it. My Doctor recommended this device. Now that I have experience with it, I'm going to ask him if I can use it to determine dosage effectiveness rather than a 24 hour monitor which may or may not reveal anything depending on whether I have a good day or not. For sure, when I've forgotten to take my meds, I can see the effect of that using this device. I keep notes on what I see and will discuss them with my Dr. at my next appointment.

Durable medical device
Well built. My cardiology people tested this and it is 99.9 accurate compared to their office pulse oximeter. I use this 2 or 3 times a day, and I change the battery one a year. This is the second one I have gotten from Amazon, 1 for my LVAD emergency bag and one for home use.

Great for hiking
I'm 62 and go for a strenuous 3 mile hike 3 times/week. The 1 mile steep uphill section gets my heart racing to 160+ bpm and 96% O2. I pause along the trail every 5 minutes or so until my heart rate drops to 120 bpm and 97% O2 before continuing. Hasn't let me down in the 3+ months of use. Easy to read in daylight.

Fast, clear, dependable
Much better than the cheapies. It works without need for repositioning. It gives a readout quickly. You can read the big bright display without squinting. No more upside down digits - press the button to rotate the display for convenient reading. Clip this onto a sick person and depend on getting a result while you attend to other things.
