Q: How do you add ink to the pad once it starts to fade?

It performs like the traditional stamp. You gently push the little ink tray out and add the ink. Give the ink time to saturate the pad. I do it before I leave work so it has time to soak in overnight.

Q: Is there a cover to this or a way to lock it so if accidentally pushed down it doesn’t stamp something?

No cover, get what you see, but in the year I have had it, no accidental stamps have been made. It is a flip stamp, when done it rises up and flips over, thus when stamping goes down flipping over to stamp.

Q: What is the small double-sided adhesive strip for?

It was a while back but I think you stamp "entered" on it and put it under the plastic on the top of the stamper. At least that is what is on mine but maybe it came that way. Not sure.

Q: Our current stamp bleeds through my checks. Does anyone know if this one will do that?

Mine does not bleed through. That said, it depends on the quality of the paper in the check. Some checks are made of heavier paper and those won't bleed through. Others, especially discount-priced checks, are more likely to bleed through because the paper is much thinner. .
