Ohio Stoneware 1 Gallon Preserving Crock

I bought this to hold kitchen utensils because my utensil collection had outgrown my old one. This crock is bigger than I thought it would be but it looks great on my counter and hold everything plus more. The quality is very nice, no pitting or crazing in the glaze. It's heavy and very sturdy...won't tip over. I searched Amazon for not only a utensil holder, but a "made in the USA" utensil holder. As you can imagine, the pickings were slim. However, as soon as this one came up on the screen, I knew I had found what I was looking for.

I shouldn’t love an inanimate object this much, but this crock is perfection! I’d been looking for a container for some time now, incl antique crocks, but was having a hard time finding what I wanted at a reasonable price. The jar I’d been storing my wooden utensils in was too small, too tall and driving me crazy. This one is wide and fits all of my stuff with ease. It’s gorgeous, even better than the listing where the blue number looked kind of smeared. Mine was packed so well you probably couldn’t break it if you were playing catch with it. The price was reasonable and it shipped quick. I am a happy camper!

Ordered this crock to make sourdough starter, & vinegar. It is really too big for that but I have found other uses for it. I love it! It is so well-made. Appears as though they are using old, tried and true techniques to make these and I appreciate the artistry and skill and attention to quality. Definitely recommend that you buy one. They are not inexpensive, but you are getting the quality that you paid for.

My husband was looking for a crock to try pickling cucumbers from his garden. This was the perfect size for his experiment and fits in the refrigerator for storage of the finished pickles. Sturdy and heavy and attractive.

Fantastic crock with accessories available. Unfortunately, whoever packed it put absolutely no padding around it so it sadly came broken to bits. This was one of many I have purchased but this was the first one that came smashed to smithereens. Sad waste of a great item! All that said...Ohio Crocks rock!

I bought this to keep my whippet from getting water all over the floor when she drinks. As long as its filled no more than halfway i don't even have to put a towel on the floor. (I used to have to have at least about 4 square feet of towel on the floor at all times) now i have no towel on the floor and its so much better! The heavy duty stoneware is also good for keeping her water cooler in the summer it seems like. And if it gets kicked or bumbed water won't go everywhere because its so stable. We have a tiny house and the water dish will always be in the way somewhere if its not on carpet. If this works out well enough in time I may even consider moving it to a carpeted area out of the way.

Good for making sour dough starters, it’s absolutely massive.
