This is a good product, with a high skill ceiling for installation that I do not recommend normal people try. The product is of decent quality, and even if one or two of them fail, the company is more than willing to work with you to try to problem solve issues during the installation. They will even send new LED parts if one doesn't work like it's supposed to, you just have to email them through their support link (they will usually get back to you within 24 hours). So the service and raw product I mark highly. Where I will offer a serious warning is the installation itself. This is not an entry-level mod, and even if you follow the directions closely, you can easily mess something up and end up with a controller that (A) doesn't close properly, (B) doesn't work correctly, or (C) closes and seems to work but doesn't charge. Combine that with the fact that you will have to take apart the entire controller to install this, including disconnecting all of the delicate ribbon cables and unplugging the battery and wireless card, and you have yourself an install that even a tech could mess up if they aren't paying attention. It's not impossible to do this for the first time if you have no experience doing mods, especially if you follow the video closely, but understand that a first-time attempt with little experience will take you at least 3-4 hours to accomplish, more if you're being extra careful. Trying to rush it faster than that will most likely result in failure. That said, it's a cool product if you do the install correctly, isn't that expensive, and combined with the company support can, with difficulty, be completed by a first-time modder.

First, I will address a couple of negative things from other reviews. 1. Only one side works. - it happens. Their customer service is excellent, and if you experience this, contact them, and they will send a replacement until you are satisfied. 2. The instructional video is too small and you can't see what they are doing. Well use your PC instead of your phone (if you have one), and this is not a problem at all! So my experience is that it is well worth it. The first time taking apart joycons is scary, but the video is amazing and if you take the time and follow the instructions exactly, you have nothing to be concerned about. I have the white joycons, so there is some light bleed-through, but I am going to purchase a joycon-safe skin anyway, and that should solve that. I absolutely love them, and would buy them again. Hopefully they will make them for the switch 2 eventually.

The instructions for this product are some of the worst I’ve ever seen. They’re not clear at all, there’s way too much going on in the picture instructions to be able to even focus on anything at all.. and to make it worse, the video on YouTube is also terrible. I was attempting to disconnect my battery like I saw them do in the video, and it went terribly wrong. I’m now unable to play my switch until I buy new jot cons because when I was trying to disconnect the battery, the white and red cables popped right out of the little square piece and they absolutely will not go back in now no matter how hard I try. I’m beyond frustrated with this company and the terrible quality of their products along with their instructions. I bought a hair trigger kit for my ps5 controller last year from the same company and it took me almost 5-6 hours to complete it SOLEY because the terrible quality of the pieces they send you and the AWFUL video instructions. I will 100% never buy another product from this company again. I was willing to give them one more chance to redden themselves after the hair trigger kit and they blew it. Would give 0 stars if i could.

I got this item so that I could build fully customized joycons for my girlfriend for Christmas. And WOW I'm amazed... this install is a little bit more complicated than some, but their video they provided made it insanely easy. they look phenomenal, very bright and no flickering whatsoever. They work amazingly even after almost 4 months of constant use. unfortunately my right one did not work when I went to install it due to shipping issues, but when I brought the issue up they sent me another one completely free of charge! my girlfriend absolutely loves the lights, and I'm most likely about to order this kit again so I can build my joycons. Completely worth every penny!!! P.S. please ignore my fingernails in the video, I got home from work and instantly started the build on the joycons...

After having re-shelled another set of joycons as well as re-shelled and added LEDs to a pro controller, I decided to tackle a second pair of joycons with this LED kit. I want to be clear that this is a PROJECT and is not “easy” to install (unless you’re a pro). Don’t expect to be done in 30 minutes - set aside a few hours. Also, if you are not already comfortable with switching out the shell and buttons on a pair of joycons I would not recommend this - you need to be comfortable with the basics first. If/once you are there, this is well worth the effort! The LEDs look great and it’s easy to change the colors whenever you want. I also have not noticed a significant impact on battery life with this or the pro controller kit. My only issue is that the light isn’t super visible for the ZR and ZL buttons for me - I could not figure out the exact placement for the LED strip for that bit to make it look better. Other than that looks great. There are also not a ton of good YouTube tutorials for this one. For other mods I’ve done I’ve followed tutorials from mrmario and CTA but neither have one for this product as of now. I wound up using the one from sthetix

Easy to install, you can find a full install video from the company. I compared the price with buying straight from their website, it is not worth it for Canadian to buy directly from them, Amazon is cheaper.

An und für sich absolut toll, die beiliegende bebilderte Anleitung lässt keine Wünsche offen. Allerdings habe ich festgestellt das eine auf den rückseitig liegenden LED's einen Wackelkontakt hat, was ich aber nicht so schlimm finde, von daher 5*, Daumen Hoch, Produkt ist absolut zu empfehlen. Für den zusammenbau sollte man sich viel Zeit nehmen, ist nichts für Grobmotoriker. 😉😁

Es hat ein sehr netten Kunden Service bei mir hat die Rechte Platine nicht funktioniert ich habe den Kunden Service darauf angeschrieben und sie haben mir eine neue Platine zugeschickt. Die Knöpfe haben eine sehr gute Qualität und mit der Anleitung auf Youtube ist es kinderleicht Es ein zu bauen.

I’ve been using ExtremeRate parts for many parts on my Switch console and it was disappointing to experience that this component fails in every regard. Purchased the kit twice, both had the same defect that the left FPC doesn’t work. My joycons work fine without them and installation of the right joycon doesn’t have any issue. This defect (quality of left FPC) has been reported a dozen times on their channel and it doesn’t seem that the supplier is looking into this. Buyers beware. Although the support desk is fast to reply and send replacement parts it doesn’t resolve the quality issue of this part which likely resides in the production line.
