Q: Good for an 8 month old, 30 lb cocker spaniel?

In my opinion, you needed the larger size. This bone comes in small and large sizes. the small size is perfect for my 7lb toy poodle; however, my 25lb poodle can quickly bite the ends off. I have a large bone for him that works fine. I would not recommend this small size for a 30lb cocker spaniel -- get the large one.

Q: Any problems with swallowing a large chunk? We had serious issues with Greenies w/very large Vet bill.

Large chunks do come off...and do not pass through the gi tract. My dog is in the hospital now post surgery for bowel obstruction due to ingesting a chewed off piece.

Q: What size is this bone? I don't see it in the listing.

Its about 5" long and 1-1 1/2" middle width.
