Slide right in and the car smelt better the very next time I drove

This was a dream fit for my 2014 Golf GTI Cab. The old one was not removed for couple of years and now I get that fresh air through the ducts. Gonna change every year !

Fits in my 2012 VW golf perfectly. Noticeable change in air quality immediately after install. I expect it to hold up well

I bougtht this Bosch 6031C "Hepa" filter because the OEM Mann filter was not available and the Bosch description indicated a "filtration efficiency of 99.97% at 0.3 microns." The filter appears to be of good quality but is much less robust than the OEM Mann filters which have a thicker, almost felt-like filter material, and the Mann filter is carbon impregnated. This Bosch filter also has a flimsy bottom frame piece but the side frame pieces were stiff enough to get the filter inserted. Those side frame pieces are key. If not stiff, the filter will just scrunch up and collapse when insertion into the filter box is attempted as is reported with some other filter options. This filter was $18 and a Mann filter was only $12. In looking at other options there is a Bosch C3807WS filter that IS carbon impregnated and appears to have the same OEM felt thickness filter material for $26. I might try that next time if the Mann is still not available.

To be honest, it felt a bit flimsy compared to the genuine VW (Mann) filter. But it nevertheless fit well and the air quality was immediately improved. Will have to see how well it performs in a year. I'll probably get the charcoal infused version next time though (C3807WS). Just wanted to confirm the fitment.

Great fit and easily installed and stopped the unpleasant odor that was obviously coming from the old filter when it got damp outside.
