Cost/ Value of Comfortable Hearing Improvement
Originally purchased Atom several years ago. They were good. I was able to hear my grandkids and friends on the phone without saying what, say that again, or just missing out on conversations altogether. I could hear the birds chirping, again. (My hearing loss is mostly loss of high frequency sounds like birds, treble sounds in music, missing P, T, E, G sounds and words when not lip reading) I did notice that some situations the sound pick up was annoying (tire sounds at higher speeds in the car) due to amplification of that frequency. After several years, the batteries quit charging. Saw FB advertisement for Atom Pro with improved sound filtration. About 2X more than what original Atom cost, but still very reasonable. After receiving and adjusting amplification level for my needs, I have noticed that the Pro series DOES have improved filtering and the road sounds in the car are greatly diminished. Once again, I am not missing out on conversations. I like the in the ear vs behind the ear as they do not interfere with glasses. I have small ear canals and regular ear plugs (sound protection) usually hurt. The Atoms were comfortable and secure, but the Atom Pros are even more comfortable and just as secure. (tad different design) The fit is good and they do not hurt even when wearing 10 hours or more. The charging station is great; can't miss docking and it also doubles as a carrying compartment for storing if needing to remove for certain activities, showering, swimming, etc. My wife has a pair of behind the ear from Costco, which she likes. The cost however, was +$2,000. Yes, she has Bluetooth and I do not. But, I do not need Bluetooth and for 10X the cost, forget it. So overall, I would rate Audien Pro in the following categories: Sound and hearing improvement = B Comfort = A+ Ease of use = A+ Order delivery = A Portability = A Over-all price/ value = A Yes, I am a satisfied customer. Thank you Audien!

I really wanted this to work for my hearing loss
I have a mild to moderate, more toward moderate hearing loss in both ears, worse in the right ear. I was going to order the real one costing in the range of $4.5K to $5.5K. I don't like to wear or add any hardware on my body, therefore I've been putting it off for a few years already. However, my hearing loss is not getting any better and I'm missing out conversations and facetime with my grandchild. I saw this item while searching through Amazon hearing amplifiers and decided to give it a try before I commit to real hearing aids. Decision factors are size, reviews and rechargeable device. First, the size: it's small but not small, I beleive it's called CIC(Completely In the Canal). It doesn't stick out of your ear except the pull string. I still think it's not small enough for me. Second, the actual performance - if you start the volume below first 2 clicks, the squeal is absent or tolerable. After 3rd clicks, it starts to squeal while inserting it or block the microphone. It's really annoying and intolerable. It amplifies mostly higher frequency, therefore sounds tinny, very loud mechanical sounds and water running sounds. Real bummer is it doesn't amplify voice frequency at all in my opinion. Third, it's very uncomfortable regardless how I tried following instructions. Finally, I gave up after a week try and returned it. I'd like to mention that the case and rechargeable device are very positive factors, though. I'm going to try a couple other brands before I commit.

Works great if it fits in ear canal
This product works. I can hear TV with volume turned down below 30% when previously I had to turn it up higher than 60%. I used to turn on caption in order to understand spoken words better, which I don't need now. Added advantage is that it goes inside the ear unlike my previous hearing aids that sit behind the ear and get in the way with my eye glasses. On top of it, if I have to wear a mask, I am constantly in fear of loosing the hearing aid. The only problem for me is that I cannot fit this inside my right ear canal snugly without causing a lot of pain. As such sound volume for that ear is less than perfect.I like the fact that I no longer need to replace batteries with this device as the charger does a great job if hearing device are left in it overnight.

Relatively inexpensive - quality of sound - OK
I bought mine one year ago after my $5000 hearing aids of 5-6 years finally died. Needed something quick for an upcoming vacation. They fit my ears reasonably well and give reasonable high frequency amplification. Noise cancellation is very poor, so conversation in a large crowd is very difficult. Volume control is tricky, but after 3 days, I got the desired amplification, without feedback. They hold their charge for about 16 hours.Lastly, about 3 weeks ago, they started to fail. Lots of static and feedback. Finally went for a new set of prescribed hearing aids ($4000), and yes there is a definite difference. I didn't realize what I had not been hearing with these hearing aids.So now they are on the shelf as backups, but I doubt I'll use them again. For the price (very affordable)
