And yes your saddlebags are less likely to be stolen or inadvertently fall off. That said, these also make re-installing the saddlebags oftentimes a bit problematic. The OEM attachments you just have to find the holes, (usually some minor repositioning of the saddlebag is needed), insert and 1/2 twist. These you have to be much more precise because you are actually threading them on, AND you have to be careful because you don't want to be stripping threads. Not insurmountable to do, but more precision is definitely required.
