Stromberg Carlson SM-24-30 7" Triple Rise Manual Step

I recently purchased a brand new travel trailer that only had single step. Needless to say, I am short and needed more steps. I decided to purchase this set to upgrade from single to triple steps. First off the width of a single step and double or triple steps is different by 2". You would think thats not a big deal but actually it is. The steps are mounted to the trailer via an outrigger. Therefore you have to move the outrigger 2" to get the new steps in place. Of course you have to purchase new outriggers as the old ones are welded so when you remove them they are unusable again. So after purchasing all the needed equipment, my brother and I tackled the uninstall and reinstall of the old to the new. Let me say we are both very handy with tools and it still took us 2 days about 18 hours total to accomplish this. If you are not handy take it to someone who is. I am pretty handy just by myself but there was no way I could have done it myself hence bringing in my brother. It is a true pain in the butt and probably been worth it to pay someone else but I like doing things myself because I know how well or not well it was done. So after the 2 days, VOILA single step is now triple step. During the process my brother griped about why I needed to upgrade. Well on my first camping trip the passenger tires were 6.5" off the ground in order to level the trailer. Even with the triple step the trailer was high to get in the door. If I would have only had the single step I would have needed a step ladder to get inside. Overall the steps look great, work great, but the bottom step is crooked slightly causing it to lean to the left. I'm not sure how this occurred but I too happy with the overall results to fret. If you buy this as an upgrade from a single or even double step good luck and enjoy.

you wont get the one in the photo with traction tape, you will get the newer one that is curved and full of holes , i wanted traction tape so my dog doesnt catch a claw in a hole and get hurt and now i have to cover the holes, 2 stars because the unit is strong and nice thats why i am keeping it, 1 star to the seller for shipping a substitute without asking first and being too lazy to update the photo in the ad

The steps that arrived are not what is pictured or described. The steps are not solid as shown, but has open slots in them. I wanted the solid step. Could have paid a few dollars less for the ones with holes. I am in need of the steps so will keep them instead but now have to by covers for the steps an additional cost.l

Perfect replacement for my 2004 Terry Quantum 5th wheel. Many bolting patterns for different applications. Does not include any bolts or nuts. This extends farther than my OEM, possibly due to the curved nature.

They replaced the old steps perfectly.. but what a job lifting them into place.. (not a manufactures problem really) When folding the bottom step in and out you have watch your fingers, the old straight steps were more "finger friendly"

Welds were a little messy but we could work around them. Steps are very heavy and your floor may need to be reinforced to install them that's what we had to do. But overall a great product.

These are good stairs and are almost an exact replacement for the original stairs on my Arctic Fox trailer. I say almost because like someone mentioned in a review in 2013 the actual stairs have rounded fronts, not the flat fronts shown in the picture. I had a discussion with an Amazon customer service representative last week asking how I could give feedback to Amazon about the lack of an adequate description of this and many other products. She said I should do that in the review, so here goes. RV stairs are not a toaster oven. They generally need to be connected to something in order for them to work. To do this, we need more than the dimensions of the shipping box.In my case, the frame of the original stairs is welded to the trailer and would be very difficult to replace. I wanted stairs that were an exact replacement such that I could remove them from the frame and install them in my original frame. Knowing that folded up they measured 16x16x29 didn't help much. Fortunately, I was able to find engineering drawings on the manufacturer's website. Amazon, you need to have a mechanism for us to give feedback on your ads.
