Future Proof Router / not in media server file transfer
Great speed in comparison to my default Linksys from the SP, but only slightly higher than my TP Link 1350. Also distance of 5G signal wasn’t that much higher. My favorite thing about it was file transfer. I plugged in a hardrive and was transferring files at high-ish speed. Also when gaming it was super smooth. But... I returned it. There were errors in the file transfer. I wanted to rely on the router to backup automatically via wifi but it didn’t feel reliable. It crashed one of my hard drives even though I was ejecting it properly each time. And it’s too expensive for the not so much greater benefits than my old TP-link. I think this product is for people with much higher speed internet than mine (85mbs) and higher interest levels in ‘future proof’ routers with AX technologies.

It was good
From easy installation to speed of WiFi signal and deliver full Internet speed to my devices, it had one problem I was not able to solve. Wifi6e was a waste bandwidth as no device could connect to it. My Samsung s23 and my tablets had wifi6e connection capabilities but never worked until I got Asus Rog Ally. It called itself gaming router but always I get dropped from gaming servers. So this is my experience with this device and I have seen many people suffer from same issues. I did purchase the next high end asus ax16000 .. and all my issues is gone ..

If you care about signal strength, do not buy this. Wifi channels 149-161 Entirely missing
I have to say a good router, but poor implementation on the Wifi. Channels 149- 161 are missing, which gives you better signal strength 1W, compared to channels 36-48 250mW 1W (1 Watt) = 1000mW It's better to get US version if you're buying the ASUS, please do your homework and avoid the dissappointment. If you can't get the ASUS then stick to Netgear Nighthawk Routers.

We gave away all our failed routers(this is oir third in a year) This one is really functional and easy to setup. Don't be fooled by fancy looking ones that will ask you to pay for any other feature (parental features with subscription? Wtf netgear orbi?). This one gives it for free. Speed test it with others and you will see the difference.

I had a high-end Netgear Nighthawk router. I hated it. It was nothing but a pain right from the start. Netgear finally brought out a firmware version (it took years) that worked, so it worked properly for about a year. One day, it told me that there was an update available, so I told it to go ahead and install it. The router bricked, and there was nothing that I could do to bring it back. So I did my research, and ended up buying the RT-AX92U. Now this is a great router, especially compared to the Nighthawk. It is very powerful, and the firmware has many, many settings. It has a mesh option, which I don't need at the moment, but may in the future. Out of the box, all of my devices connected. There were a couple of problems, but I got rid of them with a couple of settings changes. Everything works perfectly, now. I don't have any 802.11ax devices right now, but I'm getting much better performance from my 802.11ac devices. This is a great router, and I really like it. It is very small compared to the Nighthawk, and will fit in anywhere. Get one!

Just fit it in and you're all set to go. Use the Asus driver (2.3 Gbps) instead of the later windows driver (1.4) for better performance.

If you're thinking putting this card in your PC because "it will make my internet go 2.5x faster", that's not how this works. My computer is connected to a 2.5G switch, which is connected to a 2.5G router, which is connected to a 2.5G modem. If, say, my router was 1000/T only, then that becomes a bottleneck in the network. If this is the case for you, there are things you can try, such as network bonding... if your devices will allow it. But understand this NIC is one link in a chain of devices, and typically, your network is only as fast as the weakest link. With that said, I recently upgraded my local network to 2.5G. I bought two of these so far, both for my homelab servers. Both cards are performing as expected, and both cards were plug-and-play without any compatibility issues. These are cheap- not the cheapest, but typically ASUS is a quality brand and I'd rather pay a few extra dollars for the logo.
